Injuries are a part of the game of baseball, but that does not mean that they are easy for teams to deal with.

One injury can greatly impact the trajectory of a team's season and can take them from a playoff team to one that is searching for answers in the offseason.

Every major league team has a player with some injury concerns heading into the 2013 season. Some players are coming off of surgery while others have had a history of issues.

Though the 2013 offseason is not complete, many teams already have their starting outfield set for the coming season.

Others are looking at both the free-agent and trade markets to find the players whom they need. Players like Michael Bourn are still available, and they could greatly improve a team's outfield.

Both players' offensive and defensive abilities were considered for these rankings.

Even though the college and high school baseball seasons don’t begin until next month, excitement and speculation regarding the 2013 First-Year Player Draft is already in full swing.

However, preseason speculation about a prospect’s ability and potential can only go so far. What truly matters is how they perform between now and early June. Therefore, it’s guaranteed that the overall draft board will feature endless fluctuation and movement—as always.

It's never too early to discuss baseball.

As spring training fast approaches, fantasy owners are already planning their draft strategies for the upcoming 2013 season.

Here are five guys who should be considered top-five picks.

1. Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers

2012 stats: .330, 44 HR, 139 RBI, .999 OPS

Spring training is rapidly approaching and Opening Day is on the horizon. Teams will begin flocking to their respective training camps with a clear mind and with hopes of winning their respective divisions and make a deep push into October.

Could a player such as Alfonso Soriano or Rick Porcello be dealt before the start of spring training?

That seems to be the question of the hour as teams gear up for the start of the spring season.

The 2013 MLB preseason schedule kicks off in earnest next month when teams report to their respective spring training homes in Florida and Arizona. Players such as Soriano and Porcello could be moved before the opening of camps.

The San Francisco Giants’ Cinderella-like postseason run that was capped by their second World Series championship in three seasons will forever be cemented in franchise history.

The Giants proved they could compete and be successful with far inferior talent than their opposition. The Giants were the best team during the 2012 playoffs for one reason; they had a solid nucleus of veteran leadership that never weakened.

Since Jon Daniels was hired as general manager after the 2005 season, the Rangers haven't had many quiet offseasons.

Although he has done a lot of his best work at the trade deadlines, Daniels has also made many key additions during these offseasons. There have been a few misses too.

The offseason isn't technically over yet, but there's a good chance the Rangers won't make any more moves.

It's baseball's version of the Olympiad.

After a four-year hiatus, the World Baseball Classic is back in 2013. With it comes the potential and the hope that the event can capture the attention of even more fans than it did back in 2009.

It will be interesting to see how the plot unfolds in the tournament for international baseball bragging rights.
