The playoffs are still going, but the Hot Stove is starting to heat up as trade rumors begin to swirl and fans look forward to the moves their team will make in preparation for the coming season.

This year's free agent class is highlighted by Carl Crawford, Jayson Werth, Cliff Lee and little else in the way of difference-making star players.

Because of that, many teams may turn their attention to the trade market as they attempt to improve their rosters.

Texas couldn't have a better ace on the mound tonight, as the Rangers look to take a commanding 2-1 lead and move one step closer to their first World Series.

Lee was absolutely dominant in his two starts against Tampa Bay in the ALDS: iIn 16 innings he allowed 11 hits, two earned runs, walked zero and struck out 21.

And last year he was just as good for the Phillies: He won all four of his decisions, allowed just seven ER in 40.1 innings and his strikeout to walk ration was 33-6.

There may be nothing in professional sports that quite measures up to starting the final game of a seven-game playoff series in Major League Baseball. It can either mean going home, moving on, or winning it all.

Before the advent of the expanded playoff system in 1969, only two teams were eligible in MLB, the pennant winners of the American and National Leagues. For 66 seasons this was the accepted format, and the Fall Classic brought us many great memories from that period of time.

As Game 1 comes and goes, so does the Giants' magic number of winning this series, and that stands at 3. The team that has one Game 1 of the LCS has won the past three straight seasons, and 15 out of the last 17 series.

As a Phillies fan, that is definitely a concerning statistic. However, it's definitely possible with as good as the ball club is.

We have to fix and change some things up in my opinion for Game 2, and that includes quite a change in the lineup, which is where we will start the '5 things the Phillies need to do to get a win in Game 2'. 

Following Tim Lincecum's second masterful outing of the postseason against the Phillies in Game 1 of the NLCS Saturday, I scanned all the way back to 1958 when the Giants moved to San Francisco from New York to find the greatest pitching gems in SF Giants postseason history.

I found some obvious names, I found some surprise names, I found three names from this year's Giants squad (no, Barry Zito wasn't one of them).

Given what Giants starting pitchers have already done this postseason, there's a strong case to call them the best SF Giants starting rotation ever.

It's down to four teams for the World Series Championship.  The Phillies, Giants, Yankees and Rangers are going to duke it out in their respective championship series.

Well ladies and gentlemen, the 2010 Major League season has reached its very own Final Four in the form of the two League Championship Series.

The American League will pit the defending champion New York Yankees against the first-time winners Texas Rangers, while the National League will feature the back-to-back National League champion Philadelphia Phillies against the upstart San Francisco Giants.

Granted, the Bobby Cox era has officially been closed with the Braves—but that doesn’t mean baseball has ended in Atlanta.
