I went looking to see how Bleacher Report covered things the last time the Chicago Cubs went to the World Series. No luck.

I couldn't find any of our stories about the last Cleveland Indians' World Series title, either.

We weren't around in 1945 (the last time the Cubs made it) or in 1948 (the last time the Indians won it) or even in 1997 (the last time the Indians played in it).

With the Cleveland Indians waiting for their opponent and the National League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers nearing its conclusion, World Series predictions continue to roll in for the three teams still alive in the 2016 playoffs.

The Cleveland Indians earned home-field advantage for the 2016 World Series by virtue of the American League's All-Star Game triumph over the National League, which means we can officially take a look at how the schedule for this year's Fall Classic will shape up.

The 2016 World Series could be set on Saturday night with the Chicago Cubs looking for their first berth in the Fall Classic since 1945 with a win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cleveland has gone 7-1 in postseason play with a 1.77 staff ERA despite missing starters Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar. The offense has struggled, mustering a meek .206 batting average and .256 on-base percentage, but hitting 11 homers will suffice for a squad that has allowed 15 runs.

The Cleveland Indians cruised through the American League playoffs with a sparkling 7-1 record and will now await their National League opponent in the 2016 World Series.

The Cleveland Indians have already booked their World Series flights. Now it's up to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs to round things out and get the 2016 Fall Classic underway.
