Early AL All-Star Team Line-up Pridictions:

Who's going to be an all-star this year?

Just making some early All-Star predictions.

Remember, the rules call for each team to consist of 32 players, and at least one from each of the teams in the league.

AL:

C:  Joe Mauer, Twins;  Best catcher in the AL, he'll make it.

1B: Miguel Cabrera, Tigers; Barely better than Papi, but either might be used.

2B: Dustin Pedroia, Red Sucks;  Did I type Red Sucks?  Oops!  Best 2nd Baseman in the league.

3B: Alex Rodriguez, Yankees;  Top HR hitter?  No question, he's in.

SS:  Derek Jeter, Yankees;  This may be one of his last years, but he is still the top shortstop in the AL.

LF: Grady Sizemore, Indians;  After a breakout season, I expect him in.

CF: Ichiro, Mariners;  They need a lead-off hitter!

RF: Vladimir Guerrero, Angels;  Maybe his last year, and Hammi may be in this spot.

Backups: David Ortiz, Red Sox;  If there was a DH, he'd be in:

Kevin Youk; One of the best first basemen in the league, he may earn a starting job, Red Sox:

Magglio Ordonez, Tigers:  His last year in the All-Stars, but he'll still put up big numbers.

Mark Teixeira, Yankees:  Great ballplayer, and a great back-up.

Justin Morneau, Twins:  Don't forget; 2006 MVP!

Ian Kinsler, Rangers:  Versatile back-up.

Josh Hamilton, Rangers:  May earn a starting job.

Carlos Quentin, White Sox:  Could compete for starting job.  If he does well, the AL will do well.

B.J. Upton, Rays:  Love the kid's arm, good hitting.

Matt Holliday, A's:  Expect his numbers to dip, barely earning this spot.

Pitching:

SP: Felix Hernandez, Mariners:  Don't be surprised to hear this name tossed around for the Cy Young.  Expect a break-out year, and the starting job at the All-star game.

SP:  Cliff Lee, Indians:  Won't be as good as last year, but a great player.

SP: C.C. Sabathia, Yankees:  Ace of the Yankees.

SP:  Chien-Ming Wang, Yankees:  In my humble opinion, he's still the Yankees best pitcher.

SP:  Jon Lester, Red Sox:  My favorite Red Sox player.

SP: Roy Halladay, Blue Jays:  Great pitcher.

SP: John Lackey, Angels:  Don't expect him to pitch, but he is the ace of a strong team.

SP: Scott Kazmir, Rays:  Might see him play.

RP: Dan Wheeler, Rays:  Look for him to break out.

RP: Kerry Wood, Indians:  Give him a spot!

RP:  George Sherill, O's:  Great lefty.

RP: Jonathon Paplebon, Red Sox:  Totally overrated, yet dominate and overrated enough to get here.

RP: Mariano Rivera, Yankees:  Best closer ever gets yet another nomination.

RP: Joakim Soria, Royals: Most Underrated closer in the league.

Manager, Joe Maddon:  How will he handle this?  Very well!  Great, great manager.

An NL prediction will follow.
