Former St. Louis Cardinals scouting director Chris Correa, who pleaded guilty to hacking the Houston Astros' database while working with the Cards, learned of his sentence Monday.  

Per David Barron of the Houston Chronicle, United States District Judge Lynn Hughes sentenced Correa to 46 months in prison. Barron added Correa has two to six weeks until he is required to report to prison. 

Detroit Tigers rookie pitcher Michael Fulmer saw his historic run come to an end in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Kansas City Royals, just barely missing out on a 10th consecutive start allowing either one or zero earned runs, per MLB Stat of the Day.

With the All-Star break now behind us, MLB teams have increased their focus on potential trades that can improve them before the trade deadline. 

While one poor week of play can turn a contender into a pretender, there seems to be a lot more buyers than sellers on the market. This means a wide variety of teams are pursuing the same few names.

Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Albert Pujols used a big game against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday to move past Frank Robinson for sole possession of 10th place on MLB's all-time list for extra-base hits, per MLB Stat of the Day on Twitter.

The Washington Nationals played an 18-inning marathon against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday, marking the franchise's longest regular-season game since 1989, back when the team was still known as the Montreal Expos, per ESPN Stats & Info.

With the Minnesota Twins struggling to the tune of an American League-worst record of 33-58, general manager Terry Ryan was relieved of his duties Monday.

This week's power rankings reflect just one series' worth of games, so there wasn't as much shuffling as usual. It was still a terrific few days for individual pitching performances, though.
