At every baseball game I attend, I stand tall and proud with my hand over my heart as the Star Spangled Banner is played. I scold the people around me when they are too oblivious to take off their caps or when they start to cheer when "Our Country's" song is only three-fourths of the way complete.

Team Has Come Close Only Three Times in Its History

The New York Mets are now in their 48th season of existence and although they've had some great moments and great players, they still have never had a pitcher throw a no-hitter in their uniform. That is a well-known fact.

There is one other fact that is not so well known, though: They still have never had one of their players named the National League's Most Valuable Player.

Some reasonably available players to assist you in the Strikeouts category.  Realize that some of these will come with high ERAs & WHIPs because if a Pitcher has low numbers in those categories and a good K total, they’re already spoken for.

Today, I finished all my finals.  I am now finished with school and I'm so happy. 

Although it was the last day of school, it wasn't the easiest day.  This whole week I had finals, they were mostly easy but just the word finals gets you a little nervous. 

Sammy Sosa tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. If you're surprised, you haven't been paying attention.

On the other hand, people were shocked and appalled six weeks ago when Manny Ramirez was outed. Three months before that, Alex Rodriguez got tagged, too.

And each of those times, you heard the fans start saying that phrase again.

There are many professional baseball players with stories, and they know life is about more than just baseball.

Baseball, America’s favorite pastime, has left unanswered questions as to who invented the beloved game.

Baseball has been around since the 1840s, possibly even earlier, and there has been much controversy over who the inventor was.

Baseball historian John Thorn says, “In short, recent scholarship has revealed that the history of baseball’s origins to be merely a lie agreed upon.”

I had touched on this topic last summer when the Red Sox surpassed the Cleveland Indians previous record of 455 consecutive sellouts and I am quite sure that being a Yankee fan I will be accused of being a Red Sox hater and biased in my writing.  

To be truthful, I do hate the Red Sox. But you can see in my previous articles that I also give credit where credit is due.  Deep down, as a fan of baseball, there are certain things that are true regardless of my opinion and I do not have issue with admitting and/or debating these things.

Baseball players are human beings.  They took an easy way, although illegal, to increase their pay.  Not only this, we glorified them for it.  Can we really blame them for doing so?

Is it any different than what goes on in government or Wall Street?  I find it odd we wave our finger at these men when we should probably look in a mirror.
