Kansas City Royals Season Preview

I do not think the Kansas City Royals will escape the clutches of last place. They don't have the right mix of players on the team to get the job done in the AL Central.

Andruw Jones Likely To Be Rangers Fifth Outfielder

On Sunday, Rangers GM Jon Daniels and manager Ron Washington sat down with 11-time Gold Glove outfielder Andruw Jones to talk about his future with the team.

During the offseason, Jones signed a minor league contract that would pay him a base salary of $500,000 and up to $1 million in incentives.

In that contract, Jones had an opt-out clause if he was not placed on the Rangers 25-man roster by today, then he could get out of the contract in hopes of making another major league team.

Why The WBC Isn't Perfect...Yet

My dad and I talk sports almost every night.  We discuss all the topics of the day.  Who signed where, what was said, who won the big games, etc..  He even sends me text messages during the day so he can be the first to break sports news to me.  I do the same in return, sending him Chiefs scores when he's away from a TV or computer.

Jose Lopez Impressive As Mariners Win 5-1

After almost becoming the starting second baseman for Venezuela in the final match of the World Baseball Classic, Jose Lopez has now returned to Seattle, as the Venezuelans lost in the semi-finals to Korea 10-2 last Saturday.

And now that many Seattle Mariners are back from their respected teams, the Mariners can show that with their added players, they can improve on their .500 record, the mark currently sit at after a 5-1 win today against the San Francisco Giants.

It was an interesting game for the Mariners as former ace, Randy Johnson gave up two runs in three innings.

Baltimore Orioles Cringing at Current Starting Rotation

The vast improvement of the Baltimore Orioles’ minor league system brings much hope for an organization trying to break a string of 11-straight losing seasons and return to contention in the cutthroat American League East.

However, two decisions made over the weekend signal a harsh reality of the present, and the need for more patience as the organization waits for its bumper crop of starting pitching to mature in the minor leagues.

Citi Field: Up Close and Personal

Our friend over at MetsGrrl.com put together possibly the most comprehensive preview of Citi Field you'll find online. It's like she made her very own episode of "Cribs"—Mets style—as she takes you through the ins and outs of the new home of our beloved New York Mets.
