It's the mother of all small samples. On such a limited, glaring stage, peons can rise and the great sometimes wilt.

On Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs at Progressive Field, Cleveland Indians right-hander Corey Kluber will have a chance to ascend from great to legendary.

It all comes down to Wednesday night, as the Chicago Cubs will take on the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series with each team looking to end long championship droughts.

No matter what, the 2016 MLB season ends Wednesday. Either the Chicago Cubs will complete a historic comeback, or the Cleveland Indians will escape by the skin of their teeth and avoid a collapse.

Either way, the season's over. Or the actual baseball season is over. If there is anything we know about sports in our 24/7 culture, it's that they're never really over. The actual sport merely paves the way for the hot-stove season, which has already been festering under the surface of a classic World Series.

Game 7. In combination, those two words stand as the greatest in the lexicon of sport. So they're worth repeating: Game 7.

That's what the 2016 MLB season will come down to: one final game.

Every pitch will be scrutinized. Every ground ball will mean something. Every hit will be followed by unparalleled emotion.

There are no two better words in all of sports than "Game 7," and that is just for a normal playoff series.

The 2016 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians is no normal series.

The Cubs famously haven't won a championship since 1908, while Cleveland's last World Series title came in 1948. One of those teams will end decades of frustration with one single victory on Wednesday at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Game 7 is always a beautiful and lovely concept. This one is an especially thrilling development given the, you know, 176 combined years of drought that will climax in a something's-gotta-give grand finale hard on the banks of Lake Erie.

The Chicago Cubs have clawed back from the brink of elimination and are now one win away from their first World Series title in 108 years.

So, of course they're the ones everyone is second-guessing at the moment.

Thanks to a 9-3 win over the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field on Tuesday night, the Chicago Cubs knotted the World Series at three games apiece and will have a chance to cap a comeback of epic proportions in Game 7 on Wednesday night.

The Cubs entered Game 6 having scored five runs over the last three games, but they dwarfed that total by the time the third inning was over.

Per Andrew Wyrich and Abbott Koloff of NorthJersey.com, authorities in Fort Lee, New Jersey, filed a complaint against Familia alleging the pitcher caused “bodily injury to another” and that they noticed a chest scratch and bruise on the right cheek of the victim.
