The Reds roll into the All-Star break just 1.5 games back of first-place Milwaukee and seven games above the .500 mark. Two weeks ago, the Reds were flirting with .500 and anywhere from seven-to-eight games back of first.

A lot has changed in so little time. The Reds went 6-2 last week alone.

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter hit a pair of singles in Thursday's 9-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians, thus becoming the fourth player whose career began after 1914 with 1,000 multihit games, per Bill Chuck of gammonsdaily.com.

It was an otherwise ordinary night for the Yankee shortstop, who struck out in his other two at-bats and also drew a walk.

Get excited, Chicago Cubs fans. Henry Rowengartner is back—and he is all grown up.

Actor Thomas Ian Nicholas, who is best known for his role as Rowengartner in the 1993 film Rookie of the Year, threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field on Saturday. The Cubs are celebrating Wrigley Field's 100th anniversary this season, so it's only fitting that the star pitcher returned to the mound.

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw had his incredible scoreless streak snapped at 41 innings Thursday night, when San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley hit a solo home run to left-center field in the sixth inning of an eventual 2-1 Dodgers victory.
