Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well on Wednesday.

David DeJesus, Kansas City Royals
DeJesus went two for five with a run, a double, two RBI, and a walk. He’s hitting .324 on the year.

Scott Podsednik, Kansas City Royals
He didn't steal a base this time, but went two for four to raise his average to .457.

Jose Guillen, Kansas City Royals
Between this trio and Billy Butler, the Royals have some decent pieces on offense. Guillen went three for four with two runs and hit his fifth HR of the season. He’s hitting .361.

Jason Kendall, Kansas City Royals
Not to be outdone, Kendall went four for five with two runs and an RBI. He’s hitting .382 on the year.

Joel Pineiro, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Pineiro handcuffed the Yankees going seven strong innings, allowing just one run on five hits with seven K's. He improved to 1-1 on the year with a 2.77 ERA.

Ty Wigginton, Baltimore Orioles
Wigginton went two for four to raise his average to .333.

Marco Scutaro, Boston Red Sox
Scutaro went two for five with a run and an RBI filling in for Jacoby Ellsbury in the leadoff spot. He’s hitting .320.

Jeremy Hermida, Boston Red Sox
Hermida went one for four with three RBI. He’s hitting .357 with six RBI. He should get some extra ABs as long as Ellsbury is out.

Delmon Young, Minnesota Twins
Young is doing what he can to make it hard to keep him out of the lineup. He went three for four with a run and two doubles to bring his average to .346 on the year.

Ryan Theriot, Chicago Cubs
Theriot went four for five with a run, two RBI, and two SBs. After a slow start he’s hitting .281.

Andruw Jones, Chicago White Sox
Jones went three for five with a HR to raise his average to .350.

Brad Penny, St. Louis Cardinals

Brett Myers, Houston Astros
