Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts, 4/9/11

Here’s a look at the unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well yesterday.

Philadelphia Phillies @ Atlanta Braves
Raul Ibanez went 1-for-4 with two runs. Carlos Ruiz went 2-for-2, with two runs, a Grand Slam and five RBI. Alex Gonzalez went 2-for-4 for the Braves.

New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
Russell Martin went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI. Eric Chavez went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Jed Lowrie went 3-for-4. Joba Chamberlain struck out two in one scoreless inning.

Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox
A.J. Pierzynski went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Brent Morel went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Philip Humber gave up one run on four hits in six innings for the win. Wade Davis held the White Sox to two runs in six innings, but took the loss.

 


Kansas City Royals @ Detroit Tigers
Bruce Chen struck out seven in six three-hit scoreless innings. Phil Coke gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts in six-and-two-thirds innings.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ San Diego Padres (Game One)
Orlando Hudson went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Cameron Maybin went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases. Casey Blake went 1-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base.

 


Los Angeles Dodgers @ San Diego Padres (Game Two)
Tony Gwynn, Jr. went 2-for-5 with two runs. Jamey Carroll went 3-for-5.

Texas Rangers @ Baltimore Orioles (Game One)
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Zach Britton gave up four hits in seven-and-two-thirds scoreless innings to improve to 2-0 with a 0.66 ERA.

Texas Rangers @ Baltimore Orioles (Game Two) 
Mitch Moreland went 1-for-3 with two runs. Matt Harrison gave up one run on two hits in seven innings to improve to 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA.

Florida Marlins @ Houston Astros
Omar Infante went 2-for-5. Logan Morrison went 2-for-5 with a run. Greg Dobbs went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Angel Sanchez went went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

 


Colorado Rockies @Pittsburgh Pirates
Dexter Fowler went 0-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base. Seth Smith went 2-for-4 with a home run. Ty Wiggington went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Ryan Doumit went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Greg Reynolds gave up two runs on three hits in six innings, but got a no-decision.

Chicago Cubs @ Milwaukee Brewers
Chris Narveson struck out nine in seven scoreless innings for the win.

Oakland A’s @ Minnesota Twins
Gio Gonzalez gave up four hits in six scoreless innings to improve to 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA. Nick Blackburn gave up one earned run in six innings for the loss. He lowered his ERA to 0.77 in two starts. Grant Balfour struck out three in one-and-one-third scoreless innings.

Washington Nationals @ New York Mets
Carlos Beltran went 2-for-4 with three runs, two home runs and three RBI. Ike Davis went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI. Wilson Ramos went 2-for-3 with a run to raise his average to .412. Danny Espinosa went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

Cincinnati Reds @ Arizona Diamondbacks
Jonny Gomes went 1-for-3 with a run and two RBI. Russell Branyan went 2-for-4. Bronson Arroyo gave up one unearned run with six strikeouts in six innings for the win. He’s 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA. Daniel Hudson gave up two runs on three hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings, but took the loss.

Cleveland Indians @ Seattle Mariners
Asdrubal Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a run. Justin Masterson, yesterday’s streaming pitcher option, gave up one run on four hits with nine strikeouts in six-and-one-third innings. Doug Fister gave up one earned run in six innings, but took the loss.

St. Louis Cardinals @ San Francisco Giants
Nate Schierholtz went 3-for-3. Miguel Tejada went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Miguel Batista struck out three in two scoreless innings.

Toronto Blue Jays @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Maicer Izturis went 3-for-7 with a run and two RBI. J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-6.  John McDonald went 3-for-5 with two runs.
