Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts: 5/25/10

Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

 

Daric Barton, Oakland A’s
Barton went three for four against the O’s. He’s hitting .278 with 22 runs and 16 RBIs.

 

Jeremy Guthrie, Baltimore Orioles
Guthrie held the A’s to one run in six innings to improve to 3-4 with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP.

 

Mitch Talbot, Cleveland Indians
Talbot, one of yesterday’s streaming options,  gave up two runs in seven innings to improve to 6-3 with a 3.73 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP.

 

Paul Maholm, Pittsburgh Pirates
Maholm got a no-decision despite holding the Reds scoreless over seven innings lowering his ERA to 3.98.

 

Mike Leake, Cincinnati
Leake, yesterday’s other streaming option, got a no-decision despite allowing one run in 7-1/3 innings. He lowered his ERA to 2.70.

 

R.A. Dickey, New York Mets
Dickey had his knuckleball working against the Phillies holding them scoreless over six innings. He had seven Ks.

 

Anibal Sanchez, Florida Marlins
Sanchez gave up two runs in 6-1/3 innings with six Ks to improve to 4-2 with a 3.23 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP.

 

Randy Wolf, Milwaukee Brewers
Wolf gave up four hits in seven scoreless innings to even his record at 4-4. He lowered his ERA to 4.52 and his WHIP to 1.56.

 

Jhoulys Chacin, Colorado Rockies
Chacin held the Diamondbacks to two runs on four hits with five Ks over six innings. He improved to 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.

 

Ervin Santana, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (pictured)
Santana gave up three runs on four hits with 10 Ks in a complete game victory. He improved to 4-3 with a 3.65 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 62 Ks in 69 IP.

 

Jon Garland, San Diego Padres
Garland held the Cardinals scoreless on six hits over seven innings with seven Ks to improve to 6-2 with a 2.10 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.

 

Milton Bradley, Seattle Mariners
Bradley went two for four with a HR and three RBIs. He’s hitting .292 since his return to raise his average to .234.

 

Andres Torres, San Francisco Giants
Torres went three for four with a run hitting leadoff for the Giants. He raised his average to .299.
