Sammy Sosa Is a Scumbag: It's Official

I heard some crazy news last week. Sammy Sosa, the man that represents what integrity is all about in the sport of baseball, is officially a scumbag.

The corked bat was an accident? I guess not. Those stories about how he was a terrible teammate? I guess they're true. I mean it's amazing. How long did it take us to realize that Sammy Sosa was a liar, fraud, and in some cases, a cheat. Really?

I would have never guessed. I personally thought Sammy Sosa was a saint, a man's man, and a true baseball legend. The man mesmerized us with his home run chase with the now-exiled baseball personality Mark McGwire back in 1998.

He helped Bud Selig bring his league to ridiculously new heights, those that hadn't been seen in quite some time.

I remember that time because I was a little kid, amazed at the feats of McGwire and Sosa. Who would have thought the two men that brought the game to prominence in the late '90s would be the ones that degraded it a decade later?

Looks like that Hall of Fame induction that Mr. Sosa is calmly waiting for won't happen—at least not anytime soon.

I still can't believe Sammy Sosa lied to us about being a fraud. He will forever be one of the best and worst things to ever happen to the sport of baseball.

And, in other news, Sammy Sosa failed a drug test in 2003 for performance-enhancing drugs. Sammy Sosa used performance-enhancing drugs? Not like he pretended to suck at English and have a translator during a Congressional hearing on steroids or anything some years back.

Come on, New York Times. Tell us something we don't know.
