Many of 2015's quietly strong finishers have stayed hot this April, demanding attention from fantasy baseball managers.

A majority of this week's top 10 free agents, available in over half of Yahoo Sports leagues, ran roughshod late last season. They also, however, either started poorly or in the minor leagues, burying their late progress as brief blips.

Three weeks are now in the books here in the 2016 MLB season, and a few teams are starting to separate themselves from the pack here in the early going.

The Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals have gotten off to terrific starts on the National League side of things, while the defending champion Kansas City Royals still look like the team to beat in the American League.

Daniels Comments on Hamels' Injury

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels commented on the decision to skip Hamels in the rotation during an appearance on MLB Network Radio:

After what happened during Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres, St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday will probably be a little more careful the next time he tosses his bat after a walk.

The 36-year-old Holliday has probably cast aside his lumber following an at-bat more times than he can count. But this time, the veteran slugger held on to it just a bit too long and had to warn home-plate umpire Tim Timmons to protect himself.
