Jerry DiPoto Comments on Relationship with Angels Manager Mike Scioscia

New Seattle Mariners general manager Jerry DiPoto resigned from the same position with the Los Angeles Angels last season amid speculation that he and longtime manager Mike Scioscia did not get along. DiPoto touched on the subject Friday when talking with MLB Network Radio about his new job (h/t Matt Snyder of CBS Sports):

Jim Davenport, Former Giants Player and Manager, Dies at Age 82

Former San Francisco Giants infielder and manager Jim Davenport died on Thursday night at the age of 82. 

The Giants released a statement about Davenport's death on Twitter:  

As the Giants' statement on Davenport's passing noted, he spent most of his life with the franchise after beginning his Major League Baseball career as a player in 1958. 

Jeff Banister's 2018 Contract Option Exercised by Rangers: Details, Reaction

After a successful debut season with the Texas Rangers in 2015, manager Jeff Banister was rewarded Friday in the form of an exercised contract option for 2015.

According to Rangers Executive Vice President of Communications John Blake, the 52-year-old former Pittsburgh Pirates bench coach was also given a team option for 2019.

Michael Rae Papayans Charged in Alleged October Dodger Stadium Assault

Michael Rae Papayans of Palos Verdes, California, was charged with felony assault Thursday for an alleged October 2015 incident at Dodger Stadium.  

According to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com), Papayans is accused of punching a 50-year-old man who was wearing New York Mets gear following an Oct. 9 NLDS Game 1 playoff clash between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Mets.
