Veteran right-hander Gavin Floyd has found a home for 2016, agreeing to a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday, pending a physical, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, as he hopes to squeeze out at least another year of ball.

All 30 MLB teams put a different emphasis on building from within and cultivating their own homegrown talent.

A lot of it has to do with payroll, as small-market teams are forced to get the most out of their controllable young assets, while big-market teams can afford to deal prospects and spend big in free agency.

Small-market teams such as the Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Minnesota Twins have done a great job building a core out of their own developed talent.

This offseason, Major League Baseball clubs have spent roughly $2.5 billion on free agents and pulled off a handful of big-ticket trades on the side.

Well, as much as we hate to be the bearers of bad vibrations, some of this excitement is inevitably going to result in buyer's remorse. There will be busts, and we're here to try to sniff them out ahead of time.

We've reached that point in the offseason where the closer we get to spring training, the slower time seems to move. 

Most teams have their rosters set and are focused on adding organizational depth, signing fringe major league talent to minor league deals, moves that barely force the rumor mill to twitch, much less pick up speed. Thankfully, there are enough clubs still in need of a significant piece to keep things churning.

The Philadelphia Phillies agreed on Wednesday to send former first-round pick Jesse Biddle to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for right-hander Yoervis Medina.    

The Toronto Blue Jays will be installing a dirt infield at the Rogers Centre for 2016, per a Wednesday report by Sportsnet's Shi Davidi. 

The Toronto stadium has had an artificial or a synthetic surface as its field since opening in 1989. 

While there are still a few weeks before pitchers and catchers report to camp and about a month before the exhibition season gets underway, make no mistake about it—baseball season is nearly upon us.

Sure, a number of notable free agents still need to find new homes, and a handful of trades figure to go down between now and Opening Day, but we have a pretty good idea how each MLB team's roster will look once the games begin to count.

So what better time to check on the stock of each contending club?
