If you haven't checked off your Christmas list by now, well, you're out of luck.

Fortunately for MLB general managers and front-office decision-makers, there are still several weeks of free-agent shopping left. And while an array of big names have been snatched up, there's plenty of talent left on the shelf.

Infielder Daniel Murphy reportedly agreed Thursday to a three-year deal with the Washington Nationals, per Jim Bowden of ESPN. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports confirmed the news. 

Winter has finally arrived, but that hasn't done anything to slow down the MLB hot stove. Talk of moves across baseball continue to carry over into the Christmas holiday, with a number of high-profile free agents and trades making waves across the sport.

The weather outside may not be winter-like for some, but Christmas typically brings with it a cooling off for the Hot Stove League. This year is no exception, as the rumor mill has gradually slowed to a crawl over the past week as the baseball universe makes its final holiday preparations.

For a day, at least, the business of baseball takes a back seat to the business of family.

Being blinded by the captivating sunset and completely overlooking the edge of the oncoming cliff leads to an obvious outcome. 

Try as they might, the Los Angeles Dodgers haven't made much noise this winter. They've committed only blunders instead, making for a rough finish to Major League Baseball's 2015 season.

Clearly, this means the only thing for them to do now is get off to a good start in 2016.

It's already Week 7 of the 2015-16 MLB offseason, and Clayton Kershaw still needs a sidekick.

From figuring out who will be backing up baseball's nastiest starter at Dodger Stadium to trying to explain why so many prominent free-agent bats remain unsigned, there are all sorts of questions to ponder as 2016 inches ever closer.

Euphoria lasts only so long.

The giddiness and amazement that existed with the New York Mets' fall wonderland was pure bliss for a franchise that had for too long operated without a semblance of a care for on-field winning.

Many of the big-ticket free agents in this year’s loaded class of have found new homes before the holiday, but given a dense contingent of 139 free agents total, plenty of outliers remain. 

What the New York Mets really needed this Christmas week was a center fielder who could also hit in the middle of the lineup.

What they got was Alejandro De Aza.
