Playing Fact or Fiction with All of MLB's Hottest Week 20 Buzz, Rumors

We've all encountered people who, for one reason or another, insist that baseball is simply too boring to watch, too slow-paced for their liking. I'm here to tell you that laughing at those folks is an entirely acceptable response, for they clearly have no idea what they're talking about.

With roughly five weeks left in the regular season, we have five division races in which the second-place team sits no more than five games off the lead. A third of the teams in baseball are within five games of a wild-card berth.

Top MLB Prospect Call-Up Radar Report, Week 20

How about another batch of B/R's top prospect call-up radar report?

Last week, we profiled six minor league bats who figure to be impact players one day in the big leagues. In this edition, we'll take a look at a solid mix of hitters—Clint Frazier, Dalton Pompey, Javier Baez—and pitchers—Frankie Montas, Sean Newcomb, Robert Stephenson.

Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: MLB DraftKings Bargain Buys, Sleepers for August 20

Given all the rocky starting pitchers competing on Thursday, a dozen active hitters are priced above $5,000 on DraftKings. All those poor hurlers inflate the cost of mid-tier options (Patrick Corbin, Collin McHugh and Jose Quintana), which will make Chris Archer and Jake Arrieta popular building blocks.

Dominant NL Central Has Quickly Grown into MLB's Powerhouse Division

The debate no longer exists.

It is over. There is a clear answer by now. And it really isn’t even close enough for an argument to be had.

The National League Central is Major League Baseball’s best division, boasting three of the four best records in the game and the top three in the NL. If that trend holds up over the final six-plus weeks of the regular season, it would be historic, as no division in the wild-card era has ever housed its league’s three best records.

Cold Hard Fact for Wednesday, August 19, 2015

Fact: Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester has given up 35 stolen bases this year and is on pace to give up 50. The most stolen bases given up by a left-handed pitcher in the last 50 years is 42 (twice by Randy Johnson, once by Steve Avery).

Bleacher Report will be bringing sports fans the most interesting and engaging Cold Hard Fact of the day, presented by Coors Light.

Predicting the Most Hotly Contested MLB Playoff Races

With under 50 games left in the MLB regular season, roughly half (or more) of teams are within striking distance of the division or one of the wild-card spots.

In particular, four playoff races seem to be the tightest at the moment: AL East, AL Wild Card, AL West and the NL West.

Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: Best MLB DraftKings Picks, Advice for August 19

I usually build my DraftKings lineups by selecting my two pitchers first, then filling in the eight position players with the remaining salary. However, I feel like going a different route Wednesday.

Will 2016 MLB Rookie Class Provide Encore to Electric 2015 Group?

This year's MLB rookie class may not feature an immediate superstar like Mike Trout or Jose Abreu in recent seasons, but in terms of depth, it's as good as any in recent memory.

Chris Sale's 'Condor' Mechanics Made Him a Star, but Are They Too Risky?

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Before long, Chris Sale is eminently capable of doing at least two things (and, probably, much, much more).

Winning his first American League Cy Young Award. He's finished in the top six in each of the past three seasons, including third last year. Mark it down: He will win. Oh yes, he will.

Being voted Big League Pitcher Most Likely to Fly Away.

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's…whoa, is that thing wearing a Chicago White Sox cap and spikes?
