It was one game, two at-bats. Also, it's spring training. So take this with a boulder-sized grain of salt. Still, when it comes to Ryan Howard and the Philadelphia Phillies, any good news is welcome.

On Tuesday, Howard delivered some good news.

The Seattle Mariners will take the field for the first time since September tomorrow when they play the San Diego Padres in their opening spring training game.

We'll be able to get a glimpse of what the 2015 Atlanta Braves will look like when their spring training games begin on Wednesday. 

There are still lots of questions to be answered this spring training. Who wins the second base job? Who platoons with Jonny Gomes in left field? How does the bullpen shake out? Who is the fifth starter in the rotation?

About a week has gone by since spring training officially started for the Arizona Diamondbacks. A fresh start is exactly what's needed in the desert after producing the MLB's worst record in 2014.

After being released by the Chicago White Sox during the offseason, outfielder Dayan Viciedo has reportedly found a home with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale has consistently been one of Major League Baseball's best hurlers since 2012, but the unorthodox lefty is once again dealing with injury concerns.

The White Sox announced the 25-year-old star suffered a fractured right foot and is expected to miss three weeks:

Most spring training storylines you hear of will be about baseball. The whole idea is to mark the return of baseball, after all, so that makes sense.

But then there are the other storylines. The ones that are looming over everything and taking the attention away from what's happening on the field.

You know, the distractions.

With the increasing number of arm injuries to pitchers in baseball, talks of possibly going to a six-man rotation instead of the usual five have heated up.  

The idea is that with a six-man rotation, starters would not only be given more rest in between starts, but they would also be throwing fewer innings per season, which could increase their longevity by reducing the risk of devastating injuries.
