Minor League Team Cancels '2017 Astros World Series Champion' Ring Giveaway

The Fresno Grizzlies have a lot of confidence in their MLB affiliate, the Houston Astros, to win the 2017 World Series.

In fact, they felt so strongly about it, they created an entire promotional campaign around it, including 2017 World Series championship rings to hand out to fans.

This is all part of a Back to the Future-themed promotion, which includes DeLorean-inspired jerseys, complete with a flux capacitor on the front.

3 Things We Learned About the Red Sox in Spring Training

Spring training declarations are a difficult beast to tackle. Putting too much weight in March statistics would be misguided, as Jake Fox and his 10 Grapefruit League home runs in 2011 remind us. "Jake Who?" you ask? Precisely.

At the same time, this is the first extended look at the 30 MLB clubs, and in some cases managers are determining roster spots based on performance. So these games aren't entirely meaningless; they just have to be viewed through the proper lens.

Complete Washington Nationals 2015 Season Preview

This winter, the Washington Nationals set themselves up to mow down any team that stands in the way of a World Series title, but now it's time for the Nats to put their $156 million where their mouth is.

Yankees Players Recreate Babe Ruth Scene from 'The Sandlot'

If any team is going to recreate one of the most iconic scenes from The Sandlot, it might as well be the New York Yankees.

Kris Bryant Hits 2 Home Runs in Spring Training Game vs. Mariners

Kris Bryant is certainly making a strong case this spring that he belongs on the Chicago Cubs' 25-man roster come Opening Day. The 23-year-old phenom continued his torrid spring Saturday, ripping two home runs in the team's exhibition contest against the Seattle Mariners.

His numbers have to be seen to be believed, and ESPN Stats & Information passed them along:

Braves 1B Joey Terdoslavich Turns Unassisted Double Play...at Third Base

Thanks to great hustle, Atlanta Braves first baseman Joey Terdoslavich turned what might be the oddest unassisted double play in baseball history during Saturday's spring training game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, St. Louis had Yadier Molina at third and Dean Anna on first with nobody out. When the Cardinals' Kolten Wong hit a chopper to Terdoslavich at first base, chaos ensued.

Starting Pitchers Trying to Reinvent Themselves This Spring

Pitchers are ever evolving, constantly altering mechanics, tweaking their deliveries just so or even working on adding new pitches.

Spring training is the best place to try to implement those changes, because the exhibition season presents game situations that don't actually count.

All of the work, none of the mess.

Here's a look at a batch of pitchers who are using the spring to make some adjustments.
