Free agency typically provides general managers with a wide-ranging selection of players who can improve their chances heading into the upcoming season. This offseason, though, it’s as if baseball is out of everything on the menu.

Coming off the best season of his career in 2016, Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier is going to draw plenty of trade interest this offseason if the team wants to move him.  

According to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, multiple teams showed interest in Dozier during the general manager meetings.

Voters in Arlington, Texas, overwhelmingly approved a proposition to help fund a new $1 billion stadium for the Texas Rangers, which will keep the organization in the city through at least 2053.

The MLB Most Valuable Player awards feature two very different races, with one league being much more competitive than the other.

While it seems likely Kris Bryant has run away with voting for the National League award, it was difficult to even narrow the American League options down to three candidates. Of the three remaining, each has a legitimate claim to the prestigious award.

The Chicago Cubs won the World Series last week. Thus crumbled a championship drought that had lasted for 108 years. That's a glimmer of hope for other long-suffering MLB franchises if there ever were one.

Now all they need is for some damn fool to project when that glimmer of hope might pay off. I guess that's me.
