How Pedro Martinez Could Be Returning to New York

With the recent struggles of Yankee pitcher Chien-Ming Wang, and, if he continues to struggle, I think the Yankees should consider signing Pedro Martinez. Just give me a chance to explain.

The concern with Wang might be, and hopefully is, his mechanics. Manager Joe Girardi and pitching coach Dave Eiland are sure to be closely monitoring Wang after a pair of terrible starts, leaving him with an 0-2 record and an alarming 28.93 ERA.

Mike Hampton pitched six great innings as the Astros defeated the Pirates 4-1.
Houston came out early and scored in the first inning for the first time all season with a sac-fly from Lee and Pence.  Houston scored again in the third off of a two-run double from Carlos Lee.

Just Another Day at the Office For Jeter

The people who say Derek Jeter is overrated must not watch Yankee games.

For the second day in a row, the Captain played an integral role in New York's win over the defending American League champion Tampa Bay Rays.

On Tuesday, the shortstop's opposite field single in the eighth got the go-ahead run to third with less than two outs.  His three-run homer in the ninth put the game out of reach.

A Look at the MLB's Batting Stances: Milwaukee Brewers

Major League Baseball has many different and unique batting stances. This series will take a look at each team's different batting stances.
The Milwaukee Brewers open up the series with an interesting lineup of stances to look at. The lineup goes as follows: Rickie Weeks, J.J. Hardy, Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, Mike Cameron, Bill Hall, Jason Kendall, and Craig Counsell.
Grab a bat and get each player's batting stance down. Before you know it, you may have the whole league memorized.

Yankees' Xavier Nady Out For Year?

According to reports, Xavier Nady's previously "Tommy John" repaired right elbow popped when making a throw against the Rays in Tuesday night's game, and the surgery may need to be re-done keeping him out the remainder of the year.

Nady is a nice player. At worst, he is a top-fourth outfielder and excellent trade bait; at best Nady is a 280/25-30/100 producing corner outfielder.

I've heard many people say that his loss is a good thing in that it will insure Nick Swisher gets an everyday job.

Top Seven Foods at MLB Ballparks

With apologies to most of the west coast and Florida teams, here is my list of favorite foods all-time from my travels to various Major League stadiums. Peanuts and Cracker Jack may get us out to the ball game, but these days, there is a whole lot mre to choose from. So get out there, watch some baseball, and enjoy the food!

I would love to hear from the community on what may be missing.

Come To Think of It: All of This Cubs Curse Talk Really Gets My Goat

Hearing about the annual goat's head on Harry Caray's statue made me sick.

And to the guy who brought a goat to the game the other day, I have four words:

IT'S NOT ABOUT THE GOAT!

Look, folks, there is no curse. In fact, the only "curse" the Cubs have had is the curse of lousy management over the years.

Since Jim Hendry has become the GM, things have improved. Now, I've been a vocal critic of Mr. Hendry, but even I have to admit how much more of an intelligent baseball man he is than the other idiots that have generally mismanaged this club.

My Picks for the 2010 San Francisco Giants Coaching Staff

If I had my way, this would be the coaching staff of the San Francisco Giants this season. Unless Bruce Bochy makes the playoffs of course.

Bill Neukom says he wants to restore the Giants Way. These guys would definitely send the Giants on that path.

I have listed out th coaching positions that should be filled by former Giant legends that I believe are capable to coach. I am interested in what you all have to say.

The 2009 New York Yankees Bullpen Analysis

There may be no more under-rated or under-appreciated aspect of a baseball team than the bullpen. While few relievers get the glory that they deserve, a collective bullpen as a whole can single- handedly lead to a team's success or demise. Therefore, with the 2009 major league baseball season now under way, I feel it is undoubtedly appropriate to give my assessment of the this year's Yankee bullpen.
