The Red Sox have Adrian Gonzalez wrapped up in a nice little package, ready to play. The good thing for the Red Sox is they now can focus on the other cogs in the machine that is the Red Sox. This clears the air for many issues which people have been debating, but there is no question now that the Red Sox have a dangerous batting team. Depending on what they choose, you could see Boston have a powerhouse team, or a sickening combination of speed and power. Regardless, getting Gonzalez to 1st gives the Red Sox great defense at the corners.

The Yankee Universe can relax today, their captain is coming back to the Bronx.

According to George King of the New York Post, Derek Jeter will re-sign with the Yankees to a three-year deal worth $51 million dollars.

This contract will end a period of what seemed to be a chaotic negotiation process between Jeter, his agent Casey Close, and the Yankees.

Early on Saturday, the Boston Red Sox made their first big splash in the offseason, dealing top prospects Casey Kelly (P), Anthony Rizzo (1B), Reymond Fuentes (OF) and a player to be named later to the Padres for Adrian Gonzalez, according to ESPN.  

This is a huge steal for the Sox.

The Yankees and Derek Jeter's agent, Casey Close, are making "substantial progress," and a deal appears to be at hand.

The deal is expected to be completed as early as Saturday, with Jeter receiving in the $15 to $17 million range annually for a three-year deal with a fourth year option.

The Boston Red Sox finally got the slugger they've been coveting for over a year today, completing a blockbuster trade with the San Diego Padres for first basemen Adrian Gonzalez.

Going to San Diego will be a collection of top Boston prospects, including Casey Kelly, Anthony Rizzo, Reymond Fuentes, and a player to be named later.

Adrian Gonzalez, one of the best first baseman in baseball, is reportedly now a member of the Boston Red Sox.
