The second game of the Toronto Blue Jays' three-game series with the New York Yankees is underway at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.  

The Blue Jays (13-14) held New York (16-10) to only one run Monday night, just the third time all season they've allowed less than two runs in a game. Righty Marco Estrada will make the start after making six appearances out of Toronto's bullpen. He replaces Daniel Norris in the Blue Jays rotation as they attempt to sort out Major League Baseball's third-worst ERA.  

There is always going to be a give-and-take with Hanley Ramirez.

The Boston Red Sox knew that. They elected to pursue his services anyway. For the price of $88 million over four years, the organization gambled it would have more reward than risk.

With three weeks of the regular season now in the books, it's becoming evident that this could be one heck of a roller-coaster season for the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles lost five straight games but then busted out in Sunday's contest against the Boston Red Sox, scoring 18 runs.

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer tossed seven shutout innings during Sunday's 5-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, setting a franchise record by going a fourth consecutive start without allowing an earned run, per ESPN Stats & Info.

During a game between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Saturday, protests in the city of Baltimore caused Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to urge fans at the stadium to remain there for the time being.

In an unexpected move on Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays released left-hander Ricky Romero, per Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com.

Romero was in the final year of a five-year contract and was set to earn $7.5 million this season. The Blue Jays will have to pay that amount in full along with a $600,000 buyout fee for Romero’s $13.1 club option in 2016.

After a strong debut season with the Boston Red Sox, Shane Victorino had a 2014 to forget and has struggled out of the gate to begin 2015. His year suffered another setback Saturday as the veteran outfielder headed to the disabled list with a hamstring injury.
