Fantasy Baseball Prospect News for 2/22: Brett Lawrie, Mark Trumbo and More

Let’s take a look at a few tidbits regarding some of the top prospects in the game:

Milwaukee Brewers: Bullpen Key to Success in 2011 NL Central

During the offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers made perhaps the biggest move this side of Cliff Lee by dealing four players for former Cy Young winner Zack Greinke and shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt. Combine that with locking up Rickie Weeks for another four years and signing free agent relief pitcher Takashi Saito, and it's fair to say the Brewers have been busy this winter.

Our 2011 fantasy baseball projections will be released one-by-one until the top 100 players have been revealed. These rankings consider past achievements, current performance and expected future results based on standard 5×5 H2H settings.

MLB Rumors: Will The Phillies Replace Jimmy Rollins with Jose Reyes in 2012?

Jimmy Rollins has transformed into a huge fan favorite in Philadelphia over the past few years with the team. However, after an increase in injuries and a decrease in numbers, is his time in Philadelphia coming to an end?

Rollins has a lot to prove in the upcoming 2011 season. Known for making his bold team predictions, Rollins might want to focus more on himself this season rather than the team.

Philadelphia Phillies Notes: Ruben Amaro "Lee-Ry", Spring Rotation Set & More

With all of the hype and expectations surrounding this Philadelphia Phillies team, we can't say we didn't expect this insane media coverage. That being said, it seems like anything that the Phillies' rotation (insert catchy nickname) does is newsworthy.

Before their grand introduction press conference last week, it was reported that the group gathered around a table for breakfast. Yes, that made the tabloids.

Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers: 2011 Fantasy Baseball Pitching Preview

Any time you can follow one of the five best starters in the American League (Justin Verlander) with a guy who has averaged more than a strikeout per inning over his career (Max Scherzer), you’ve got the makings of a good rotation.  After that, though, the Tigers need some things to go their way to make it a successful season.

Mets Baseball & The Single Guy.(Or My Admiration For Lisa Murphy & Betty Nguyen)

With apologies to Helen Gurley Brown who wrote the book, "Sex and the Single Girl" in 1962, (which was not only groundbreaking but also considered quite taboo and provocative, especially considering it was the Feel-Good '60's) my version is much tamer.

This is my first baseball season as a single Dad.

MLB Spring Training: Cleveland Indians Make Same Mistake With Orlando Cabrera

The official web site of the Cleveland Indians has Orlando Cabrera listed as the starting second baseman for the club. This confirms what has been suspected since the signing was announced last week.

For the most part, reaction to the signing has been positive. All I'm hearing about is how great a player Cabrera is and how he's a big addition to the 2011 team. Did you know he's been to the playoffs six of the last seven years? I've heard about it ad infinitum.

Albert Pujols The Next Alfonso Soriano? Cubs Prepare To Dish Out Maximum Funds

Chicago is spinning with excitement for next off-season, and they haven't even been eliminated yet. Albert Pujols will become a free agent after the conclusion of this season, and some clubs have the rival right in their cross hairs. The Cardinals were unable to strike a deal with their current face of the organization and will now have to compete for his work. Pujols was reportedly seeking a 10-year, 300-million dollar contract and the Cardinals were unwilling to match it. Should the Cubs do what the Cardinals didn't?

2011 MLB Fantasy Forecast: Tampa Bay Rays Rookie Jake McGee As Closer

A lot has been stated (and overstated) on the state of the Tampa Bay Rays bullpen.  The Rays lost nearly their entire bullpen in one off-season, and General Manager Andrew Friedman has run out of band-aids trying to patch a 'pen together for the 2011 season.  He's signed a couple of veterans, he's traded for some young arms, but the best and brightest hope to a successful bullpen in 2011 is squarely on the shoulders of someone who was already in-house.

Jake McGee.
