Video of Mark Teixeira's Collision with Texas Rangers Catcher Bobby Wilson

If you missed the game, or our post about it, here’s what happened: In the top of the third inning of Friday night’s loss to the Angels, with Mark Teixeira at second, Robinson Cano singled to right. Tex came around third and there was a collision at the plate with Texas catcher Bobby Wilson. The consequence was a concussion and an injured ankle.

Fantasy Baseball Around the Majors: 4/24: Clayton Kershaw, Barry Zito & More

Is the old Barry Zito back?  Will Clayton Kershaw ever learn to limit his pitch count?  Jayson Werth erupted.  Let’s take a look at these stories and all the rest from yesterday’s games:

A Week of Walk-Offs: Texas Rangers Plagued By Inconsistency in a Rough Week

I know it is still early in the season, but this team is feeling more and more like teams of the past; keeping a record right around .500, and never knowing how to put other teams away. I hope they can get it figured out soon.

Game Recaps

4-20 at Boston Red Sox L, 6-7

Colby Lewis had a decent start going five innings and giving up 3 runs on 5 hits. He had to feel pretty good leaving the game with the score at 6-3, but it turned out not to be enough.

Power Surge: Boston Red Sox Squeak By Baltimore Orioles

After a dismal start to the 2010 MLB season, fortunes are starting to turn for the boys of summer in Beantown. With a come-from-behind win over the bottom-dwelling Orioles, the Red Sox have been able to rattle off four wins in their last five outings, quickly approaching the .500 mark for the young season.

So far, nothing has been easy for the Red Sox. Starting the season against the defending world champion New York Yankees, along with the difficult Tampa Bay Rays and a much improved Minnesota Twins, things have not gone the way Sox fans have come to expect.

Colorado Rockies Split Doubleheader; Aaron Cook Finds His Sinker

The Rockies lackluster performance in game one of the doubleheader on Saturday was made up for in game two.

Rounding The Bases: April 24

Baltimore’s Adam Jones has homered for the second straight game, and if this kid gets hot, he could really put up some good numbers. Jones has the capability to hit 30 home runs if all goes well. He got off to a pretty rough start, but stay patient with the young man and he will pay dividends, I promise.

Red Sox Facing Bad Breaks, Playing Bad Baseball

Coming into this season, there were many concerns—even some predictions—that the Red Sox wouldn't have the offense to prevail in the AL East, much less win the pennant.
So far, those concerns appear valid. In the first 17 games of this season, the Sox have scored two or fewer runs seven times, including two shutouts.
David Ortiz's struggles have continued, which hasn't come as a surprise to many.

Mets Beat Braves 3-1, Have Won 5 of 6

What did I tell you? A week ago the Mets looked awful as they dropped their fourth consecutive series to start the season to open the season.

Well, after winning two consecutive series and five of their last six games, things are looking good in Flushing.

Don’t kid yourselves, this team does have problems, but they weren’t as bad as they were a week ago.

Adeiny Hechavarria Signing Official: Taking a Look at the Blue Jays' 2013 Roster

With Adeiny Hechavarria being signed to the largest contract every given out by the Toronto Blue Jays to an international player ($10 million over four years), the Jays finally have hope that their shortstop carousel may be slowing down.

Hechavarria figures to be both a stolen bases threat and a leadoff staple for the next decade; however, I can't find anything about the kid other than really basic scouting reports and the fact that he had a .262 average last year on the Cuban National Team.

David Wells Rips A-Rod Over Dallas Braden Incident

I’m going to keep this short because I’m with Alex Rodriguez ; this is really just a funny incident and it’s really not a big deal.
