Joe Morgan Signed by Reds as Special Advisor: What Does it Mean?

Joe Morgan, one of the Cincinnati Reds greatest players of all-time, is working with his former team again.

Morgan, 66, joined the Reds as a special adviser to baseball operations. The move was announced during a news conference at Great American Ball Park on Wednesday.

In a 22-season career from 1963-84, where he established himself as one of the best second basemen of all time, Morgan batted .271 with 268 home runs and 1,133 RBI. He was a 10-time All-Star (including eight straight with the Reds) and a five-time Gold Glove Award winner.

Chicago Cubs: Lilly's Return Couldn't Be More Needed

In the 2010 season, the Chicago Cubs rotation has been as dependable as a Toyota especially since the recent move by Lou Piniella of Carlos Zambrano to the bullpen, and complete domination by recently acquired starter Carlos Silva.

2010 Fantasy Baseball Pitchers: Week Two Top Guns Report

This is a weekly focus on the hurlers that dominated their adversaries. These pitchers put up nasty numbers and made big league hitters wish they were playing Tee Ball again.

1) SP Ubaldo Jimenez COL

Ubaldo Jimenez is pitching the best baseball of his life. Jimenez gave Colorado their first no-hitter in franchise history. He struck out seven and pitched 128 pitches.

He has a 1.29 ERA after a flawless pitching performance and has a perfect 3-0 record.

6,632 Games Since Their Last One, The Yankees Turn a Triple Play

The New York Yankees accomplished a rare feature in their 4-2 loss against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Pitcher CC Sabathia was pitching very well, but did not get enough run support to top the A's.

Sabathia pitched to Kurt Suzuki. The ball was chopped to Alex Rodriguez, who rushed to third and stepped on the bag to get Daric Barton out.

Rodriguez then beamed the ball nicely to Robinson Cano awaiting at second base to force Ryan Sweeney out.

Yankees Turn First Triple Play Since 1968

The Yankees may have lost by 2 runs against the Oakland A's, but this afternoon's game will be remembered for one defensive play.

In the bottom of the 6th inning of today's game, Kurt Suzuki stepped to the plate with  Ryan Sweeney on 1st and Daric Barton on 2nd base and nobody out. Suzuki, in the first inning, drilled a 3-R Run home run against CC Sabathia to give Oakland the early lead.

Streaky Jason Bay Will Soon Explode But Will Jerry Manuel Be There When He Does?

To say Jason Bay has had a fairly quiet start to his time as a Met would be an understatement. The prized offseason acquisition has been as good as invisible in the heart of Jerry Manuel's lineup, struggling to find his grove at the plate.

If Citi Field is the ballpark where home runs go to die, Jason Bay is the hitter who has killed innings that once start with so much promise. Well, him and Jeff "4-6-3" Francoeur.

Milwaukee-Pittsburgh: Brewers Sweep Pirates, Set Records Along The Ride

The Brewers beat the Pirates 20 to 0 (yes 20) Thursday to complete the sweep against Pittsburgh.

The win today tied the Brewer team record for largest margin of victory, and is a Brewer record for the largest shutout victory in team history.

The Brewers also set a club record by leading by eight runs in four straight games, going back to the final game of the Nationals series.

Carlos Zambrano To Bullpen As Cubs Continue To Operate In Bizarro World

To quote one of my favorite episodes from Seinfeld:

"He's reliable. He's considerate. He's like your exact opposite."
"So he's Bizarro Jerry."
"Bizarro Jerry?"
"Yeah, like Bizarro Superman, Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards Bizarro world. Up is down, down is up, he says hello when he leaves, goodbye when he arrives."
"Shouldn't he say badbye? Isn't that the opposite of goodbye?"
"No, it's still goodbye."
"Does he live underwater?"
"No."
"Is he black?"

Welcome to Tribe Talk, where Bleacher Report's Tribe fans weigh in on the ups and downs of the Indians each week throughout the season.

This week, we devise strategies for defeating Minnesota and Oakland, discuss the best and worst stadiums in the American League, and just this once, we cut Mark Shapiro a break.

I would like to thank this week's participants Dale Thomas, Scott Miles, and Jon Sladek for their contributions. This discussion is open to all, so please feel free to comment below and pitch in your thoughts on the questions we're addressing this week.

Atlanta Braves: Are They The Most Exciting Team in Baseball?

I feel like the baseball season is halfway over already.

I know, the Braves are only 14 games into the year, but doesn’t it seem like so much has happened?

First there was Opening Day—Derek Lowe being Derek Lowe, a packed crowd at Turner Field, and of course, the monster homerun hit on the first swing of Jason Heyward’s career.
