2010 MLB Predictions: National League East Preview

The National League East is a beast unlike any other to Mets fans such as myself. As a kid growing up, it was the Atlanta Braves who were the team to beat, thanks to a ridiculous stretch of division titles that started in 1991 and ended with the Mets finally knocking them off the throne in 2006.

The 20 Best Chris Berman Nicknames of All Time

Chris Berman is a broadcasting legend.

Finding a sports fan who doesn't know who he is would be hard, but finding one that doesn't like him might be even harder.

He attended Brown University, but you certainly can't tell with his wacky behavior when covering any sporting event.

Berman is creative, funny, and smart, what more could you ask for?

So without further ado, I give you the 20 greatest "Bermanisms" of all time.

The New York Mets All-Time Defensive Team: Keith Hernandez, Endy Chavez, Carlos Beltran Lead the Way

The New York Mets were blessed with one of the best defensive players to ever pick up a glove when they traded Neil Allen and Rick Ownbey to the St. Louis Cardinals back in 1983.

2010 Twins Predictions Day - April 2nd

I e-mailed this to a lot of Twins bloggers. If you didn't get it, there's a good chance it's due to my incredibly horrid internet connection (which made me re-send it about eight times) instead of me just forgetting about you. I sent it to nearly every e-mail address that I could find from the Twins blogs on my sidebar as well as others, so don't feel bad if you didn't get it because there's a good chance that you're not alone.

2010 MLB Predictions: How the AL East Will Shape Up

The 2010 Major League Baseball season is almost here. That means it is time for predictions to run rampant. Without further ado, here is one prediction for the American League East.

2010 NL West Preview: Pitching Takes A Giant Step Forward In San Francisco

“Pitching wins championships.”

If the Giants are to win the National League West title—which I believe they will—it’ll have to be on the basis of its pitching staff because its offense certainly doesn’t look like it’s capable of scoring a bevy of runs. The offense finished 25th in MLB last season in batting average (.257), 26th in MLB in runs scored (657), and dead last in OPS (.699). This is not an offensive juggernaut.

But as bad as the offense was, the pitching staff was just that good; actually, it was even better.

2010 NL West Preview: Rocky Season in Store for Colorado Rockies

The 2009 edition of the Colorado Rockies finished the season in second place in the NL West with a record of 92-70…that was good enough to earn a postseason berth as the NL wild card team.

The 2010 edition of the Rox should be pretty good, but it won’t quite measure up to the performance level of last year’s squad.

The club will have difficulty replacing Jason Marquis, who went 15-13, with a 4.04 ERA, while pitching 216 innings. Marquis fled via free agency to the greener pastures of…drum roll, please…the Washington Nationals.

2010 NL West Preview: Divorce American Style To Doom Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers won the NL West by three games last year after posting a 95-67 record; unfortunately for Los Angelians, the 2010 season doesn’t hold nearly as much promise.

The ballclub is in trouble… that’s “trouble” that starts with “T” that rhymes with “D” that stands for “d-i-v-o-r-c-e-”!
