John Mozeliak Signs 2-Year Extension with St. Louis Cardinals

After reaching the World Series last season, the St. Louis Cardinals have decided to extend the contract of general manager John Mozeliak.

According to Major League Baseball on Twitter, the two-year extension means that Mozeliak is now contracted through the 2018 season:

22-Year MLB Veteran Jim Thome Airmails First Pitch


Former 22-year MLB slugger Jim Thome got the opportunity to throw out the opening pitch at the brand new Charlotte Knights stadium.

There must have been a reason he was a designated hitter for most of the end of his career. 

Thome's pitch was terrible, and the fans seemed to be pretty disappointed.

Reds CF Billy Hamilton Is Faster Than Deion Sanders on the Basepaths


Cincinnati Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton is already considered the fasest player in Major League Baseball, but how does he compare to someone like Deion Sanders?

MLB Tonight made the video above comparing Hamilton and Sanders on the basepaths after hitting a triple. Hamilton was able to beat Sanders by a fraction of a second.

Hermes Is Selling a Hand Stitched Baseball Glove for $14,100

Hermes, a company well known for fine leather goods and accessories, is now selling a very expensive baseball glove and bat.

The glove is made with gold swift calfskin; it took 25 hours to stitch and costs $14,100, per the company's website. 

They are also selling an ash wood bat with more gold swift calfskin around the handle for $1,925.

Adam Jones Says Players Should Be Able to Kick Fans That Run onto the Field

Get off Adam Jones' lawn.

The Baltimore Orioles center fielder has had it with fans running onto the field of play and disrupting games.

Two fans ran onto the field in the eighth inning of the Orioles' game with the New York Yankees on Tuesday afternoon. The incident was rather innocuous, and the fans were escorted out of the stadium and likely faced some sort of fine for their troubles.

Braves Honor 40th Anniversary of Hank Aaron's HR Record with Throwback Jerseys

On April 8, 1974, Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron hit career home run No. 715, surpassing Babe Ruth for the all-time record. On April 8, 2014, the Braves honored Hammerin' Hank by wearing the same jerseys Aaron wore the night he set the record 40 years ago.

Atlanta will also have the No. 715 cut into the outfield grass and a special logo on the bases. He will also be honored prior to the Braves' game against the Mets.

Adrian Beltre Injury: Updates on Rangers Star's Quad and Return

Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre exited Tuesday night's game against the Boston Red Sox after the top of the fourth inning with an apparent left quad injury.    

Beltre, who was serving as the designated hitter, hit an RBI double off the Fenway Park center-field wall in the fourth but came up limping. He played out the remainder of the frame before hobbling back to the dugout and leaving the contest for good, with the Rangers ahead 8-0.

Ryan Braun Smashes 3 Home Runs in Brewers' 10-4 Rout of Phillies

Road fans might do well to leave Ryan Braun alone from now on. Amidst constant heckling from a partisan crowd in Philadelphia, the Milwaukee Brewers star hammered three home runs in a 10-4 win over the Phillies on Tuesday afternoon.   

It's the second time the 2011 National League MVP has hit three dingers in one game, per SportsCenter:
