One of the biggest questions for the Atlanta Braves heading into the postseason was whether the lack of experience in their starting rotation and the absence of a true "ace" would come back to bite them.

The Tigers traveled to Oakland to take on the A's in Game 1 of this ALDS matchup. The A's sent Bartolo Colon the hill with Max Scherzer on the bump for the Tigers.

The Tigers got to Colon early tonight, striking for three runs in the top half of the first inning. Colon has settled in since then, but three runs could be enough for Max Scherzer and the Tigers.

The Boston Red Sox broke Game 1 open with a five-run fourth inning, and they have Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Wil Myers to thank for a large part of that. 

Jonny Gomes came through with the big hit—a two-run double off the top of the Green Monster to tie the game—but he never should have been up with two runners in scoring position in the first place.

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Johnny Cueto lasted only 3.1 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Wild Card Round game Tuesday and gave up four runs, two of which were solo homers, including one to Russell Martin, which can be seen below.

Thanks to teammate Todd Frazier's amazing catch, however, Cueto got out of the inning alive against the Pittsburgh Pirates. 

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman seems to be wasting no time in the negotiations process with free-agent manager Joe Girardi, as he plans to offer Girardi a raise over lunch on Wednesday, reports Andrew Marchand of ESPNNewYork.com.

The Cincinnati Reds will travel to Pittsburgh tonight to take on the Pirates in the National League wild-card game. 

The Pirates swept the Reds to end the regular season and finished with an impressive 94-68 record. The season marked the Pirates first winning season since 1992. 

Terry Pendleton made his discontent with Chris Johnson extremely obvious by shoving the Braves third baseman in a bizarre dugout altercation Saturday night.
