The Mets took a major step toward assuring a change for the better by signing manager Terry Collins to a two-year contract extension, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post:

Los Angeles Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig was forced to leave Friday's contest against the Colorado Rockies early with a foot injury, but it doesn't sound like there's anything to be overly concerned about. 

The team's official Twitter feed had the news:

With a 7-0 win over the Chicago Cubs, the St. Louis Cardinals clinched their first National League Central division title since 2009.

Michael Wacha may never make St. Louis Cardinals fans forget Albert Pujols, but he sure hasn't made them wait long for a return on their investment.

Making just his ninth major league start, the Cardinals' 2012 first-round selection (and compensatory pick for Pujols) nearly threw his first career no-hitter Tuesday night, blanking the Washington Nationals in a 2-0 victory at Busch Stadium.

There was mass chaos before the New York Yankees' game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, as the team was holding a bobblehead giveaway in honor of its retiring closer. The only problem was, the bobbleheads didn't actually show up before the game.
