The St. Louis Cardinal's Hall of Famer Stan "The Man" Musial, along with Boston Celtic legend Bill Russell, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama.

The Medal of Freedom is the highest honor a civilian of the United States can receive for making an exceedingly great contribution to the interests of our country.

Josh Hamilton, the 2010 American League Most Valuable Player, agreed to avoid arbitration and signed to a two-year contract worth $24 million with the Texas Rangers.

The deal allows Hamilton to become a free agent following the 2012 World Series. Had Hamilton and the Rangers gone to arbitration, a third party would have decided between the Rangers offer of $8.7 million per year or Hamilton's offer of $12 million.

Francisco Liriano may be on the trading block just days after coming to agreement on a one-year, $4.3 million deal for the 2011 season.

Now he said enough is enough and he wants out. Who can blame him? The Ranges can easily trade Young to the Rockies, Dodgers, Angels, Padres, Yankees, Twins, Astros and Cardinals. Anyone else would have to be done by his approval.

Michael Young is reportedly wanting out of Texas and has demanded to be traded according to sources. 

Young is one of the more established hitters in the game, having a .300 career batting average.  If the situation doesn't resolve and Young is indeed leaving the Rangers organization, he will be highly sought after around the league.

Right-hander Steven Raburn has signed a minor-league contract and is expected to report to extended spring training by April 5. 

Michael Young wants out of Texas. 

The Texas Rangers acquired 3B Adrian Beltre this offseason, and Young no longer has spot in Texas' infield. The Rangers had planned on Young being their designated hitter and a utility player. It's apparent that he does not want to play that role.

The Boston Red Sox usually does a good job when it comes to retooling and trying to keep up with the New York Yankees. They should, it is as important of a skill for the front office now than ever before.

Alex Anthopoulos of the Toronto Blue Jays has been among the most active general managers in baseball's trade market this offseason. 

First, he acquired leadoff man Rajai Davis from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for two minor league arms. Davis has stolen 91 bases over the past two seasons.
