There has been buzz around the Major Leagues as to what the McCourts will be doing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. A former Dodgers owner has joined in the talks as he makes a suggestion to the current ownership to sell the team. 

Now in his 29th season as a major league manager, Joe Torre recently announced that he will not be returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers next season.

Torre led the team to two NLCS appearances in his first two years with the team but this year has been a horrific season for the Boys in Blue.

Dodgers fans shouldn't despair, while his tenure with the team comes to a close, this is not a time to be sad.

Early Friday morning The GM's Perspective reported that the Vancouver Canadians were set to become the newest member of the Toronto Blue Jays family.

I mentioned to a friend in an email this new partnership between the Canadians and Jays brings together two hotbeds of baseball and situates them under one umbrella.

It's not everyday a new affiliate comes to town, sort of.

According to News1130, the Vancouver Canadians have negotiated a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays to become their newest affiliate.

Unfortunately, details are scarce at this point, but the announcement is set for Friday, September 17, 2010.

Joe Torre shockingly announced he will retire from the Los Angeles Dodgers, and hands  the reins to successor Don Mattingly today  with two weeks left in the regular season.

It's a move that caught everyone by surprise considering that the Dodgers may want to interview others such as Tim Wallach, but nevertheless Mattingly is the incoming manager while Torre is nothing but a lame duck on the West Coast.

Torre, who is in his 29th season as a MLB manager, has resigned as the Dodgers manager. The Dodgers are 72-75 and have been struggling lately.

Torre has managed the Dodgers for three seasons.

The Dodgers have scheduled a news conference for later today where they will name Mattingly as the next manager.

It is still unclear whether Torre will retire or search for another job.

According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, Joe Torre will soon announce that he is stepping down as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he will be replaced at the helm by former Yankee captain Don Mattingly.

It has been assumed for years that Mattingly would eventually take over for Torre, but most imagined that it would happen in the Bronx.

With speculations swirling regarding the future of the Los Angeles Dodgers as far as payroll and players, one thing is finally put to rest today. Joe Torre will not have his contract picked up this off-season, and Don Mattingly will replace Torre as manager. 

The changing of the guard will be officially announced later today before the Dodgers take on the Colorado Rockies.

Entering their final season at Sun Life Stadium in 2011, the Florida Marlins will yet again relocate a home series.

It won't be by their choice, but because U2 is having a concert at the stadium on June 29, 2011.

On June 24-26, the Florida Marlins will be facing the Seattle Mariners in an interleague series. Essentially, it wouldn't give the crew at Sun Life Stadium enough time to set up for the concert stage and seating. 

Dodgers' outfielder Andre Ethier has reportedly announced that he would "love" to play in Boston, according to Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com. Given the Red Sox' myriad outfield woes this season and Ethier's .851 career OPS, the Boston brass would no doubt equally love to welcome the 28-year-old lefty to Beantown.
