Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

While rumors swirl that Cliff Lee is close to being dealt, there were plenty of on-the-field stories that are worth discussing.  Felix Hernandez continued to thrive.  Matt Garza and Mike Pelfrey continued to struggle.

Here's a quick look at last week's Fantasy Baseball top performing, least owned players on the waiver wire.

Jim Thome hit four homers. Clint Barmes' hit streak continues. Max Scherzer dominates yet again. Dexter Fowler is back and on a mission. Can they really keep it up for another week?

Hitter of the Week :

Kyle Drabek is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball.  The son of former Cy Young Award winner Doug Drabek, Kyle showed just how capable he is yesterday, throwing a complete game no-hitter.  In fact, according to Minor League Baseball’s website, he has now gone 13.1 innings without allowing a hit.

While everyone was enjoying their fireworks and BBQ, there was plenty of news coming from the baseball diamond.  Yovani Gallardo was forced to leave his start before finishing three innings.  Mark Teixeira could finally be heating up.  Torii Hunter had a huge night.

Fantasy Baseball’s Pitching Line of the Week

Felix Hernandez (SP-SEA): 9 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 11 K, W

Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners pitched a complete game two-hitter in the Bronx this Wednesday in what was his best start of the 2010 season to date.

He fanned every starter on the Yankees roster with the exception of first half MVP candidate Robinson Cano. Additionally, Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira, and Alex Rodriguez each struck out twice against King Felix. 

Domonic Brown is, in a way, an insurance policy for the Phillies if they are unable to resign Jayson Werth this winter.  It’s pretty safe to say that the 22-year-old is quite the safety net.

A few players could provide your club with a nice boost if you are willing to scan the waiver wire. Coco Crisp and his fresh legs could provide steals. Tom Gorzelanny’s newfound rotation opportunity could provide strikeouts. And Aubrey Huff is a surprising source for most offensive stats, along with a little position flexibility.

It’s time to look at the potential two-start options for the upcoming fantasy week.  If I have someone rated as a three, four or five-star option, he is someone I would definitely use.  A two-star option is someone who is borderline, but I’d strongly lean against it unless I have no other options.  The one-star options
