Carlos Santana made his much anticipated debut and Tim Lincecum has appeared to have righted the ship. Francisco Liriano stole the show, despite Ubaldo Jimenez getting win #12. Let’s look at these stories and all the rest from yesterday’s games:

Another day, another big time prospect comes to the majors.  Today it is Carlos Santana of the Cleveland Indians who was perhaps the best hitting prospect left down in the farm.  I wont start gushing too much about him, you will have to read the article to see the rest.  There is some injury news on one of the best players in the game, and also some of the more interesting pitchers of the night. 

Brandon Phillips continued his torrid streak.  Brett Cecil, Jonathan Niese, Jake Arrieta, and Trevor Cahill were among the young starters who impressed.  Justin Smoak is quietly heating up.  Let’s look at these stories and all the rest from yesterday’s games:

Clayton Kershaw defeated Adam Wainwright.  The Pirates’ Jose Tabata and Brad Lincoln made their major league debuts to mixed results.  Is Delmon Young actually living up to the promise?  Let’s look at these stories and all the rest from yesterday’s games:

Let’s face it—the Pirates are a bad team. Just look at the numbers of their pitching staff, and you cannot help but cringe.

A team ERA of 5.27 is awfully telling, as they have maybe two or three usable pitchers for fantasy owners.

Help may be on the way. Top prospect Brad Lincoln has been tearing up Triple-A, earning him a recall to start tonight against the Nationals. Just look at his production:

Aroldis Chapman is one of the most talked about prospects in baseball, though it is becoming increasingly questionable if he will make a fantasy impact in 2010. 

He’s shown some good and some bad during his time at Triple-A, but the one constant has been struggles with his control (which many feared before he signed).  Let’s take a look at his numbers thus far:
