MLB: Analyzing the Yankees Lineup

Let’s take a look at the potential for run scoring in this year’s version of the Yankees lineup. We’ve done this in the past, even a couple of times this offseason, but now that spring has started and we have a better idea of what their lineup will look like let’s do it again.

Fantasy Baseball: Don't Hate the Player (Michael Bourn), Hate the ADP

I don’t hate Michael Bourn. He’s likely to be among the Major League leaders in stolen bases again next year. Plus, I’m sure he’s a very nice guy. I just hate his ADP.

According to ESPN, Bourn’s ADP, or average draft position, is 123.7, which puts him in the beginning of the 13th round in a 10-team league and the beginning of the 11th round in a 12-team league. It may seem reasonable, since he’s only a one-category stud.

Fantasy Baseball Spring Storylines: March 7 (Bonderman, Buchholz, and More)

Rain wreaked havoc out in Arizona, but that didn’t limit the number of interesting storylines. Catching battles, injury returns breakouts, and more. What else can you ask for?

Hold Your Breath, Twins Fans

Whenever your star closer breaks camp to have his surgically-repaired elbow looked at, all the excitement surrounding the start of a new year comes to a screeching halt.

The joy of finally having outdoor baseball in Minnesota again is replaced with the fear that they will suffer a similar fate as the Mets in their new ballpark.

Fantasy Baseball Spring Storylines: March 6 (Davis, Wood & More)

The spring games continue, as do the intriguing position battles.

Could Wade Davis’ grasp on the fifth starter spot fade?  Could Ike Davis force his way into the Mets’ 1B mix?

Let’s look at these stories and all the rest:

Fantasy Baseball Spring Storylines: March 5 (Joba, Francis, and More)

As the spring games roll on, the focus is going to shift greatly to the pitchers, where there are quite a few interesting battles brewing.  Let’s take a look at how things played out in today’s games:

Fantasy Baseball Spring Storylines: March 4 (Wright, Pence, and More)

Is Adam Dunn Really a Fantasy Baseball One-Trick Pony?

You look at Adam Dunn, and there’s one thing that comes to mind: home runs.  That’s it.  That’s really all you need to know about him, isn’t it?  Is he really that type of one-trick pony?

Before answering that question, we need to look at a few things:

2009 Statistics:
546 At Bats
.267 Batting Average (146 Hits)
38 Home Runs
105 RBI
81 Runs
0 Stolen Bases
