The Seattle Mariners placed shortstop Ketel Marte on the 15-day disabled list Sunday because of a sprained left thumb, according to Bob Dutton of the News Tribune.

He suffered the injury Saturday after jamming his thumb on a slide while trying to steal second base.

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera suffered a left knee contusion against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, and it is uncertain when he will return to action.

After taking last week off, B/R's All-Dud Team of the Week makes its triumphant return, and just in time. There were some truly awful performances put forth in the seventh week of the regular season. How awful were they?

According to Greg Logan of Newsday, Duda will not play against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday after having an MRI on his back, and manager Terry Collins commented on the matter:
