Forsythe Out After Collision

Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Forsythe left the game after a collision with teammate Kevin Kiermaier.

The Tampa Bay Rays defense may have taken a major hit, as outfielder Kevin Kiermaier suffered an apparent head injury against the Chicago White Sox, and it is uncertain how long he will be on the shelf.

The Texas Rangers and star third baseman Adrian Beltre agreed to a two-year contract extension Friday, according to MLB.com's TR Sullivan.  

Major League Baseball has honored Jackie Robinson's breaking of the color barrier every April 15 since 2004, and the tradition will continue Friday with a special celebration involving all 30 teams.

Robinson became the first African-American to play in MLB on April 15, 1947, making Friday's event the 69th anniversary of that historic moment.

At least on a knee-jerk level, that's just sound logic. While Giles sits there with an ERA over 12.00 through four appearances out of Houston's bullpen, Velasquez looks like a man on a mission in the Phillies rotation.
