Rookie Trevor Story has been, well, the story so far for the Colorado Rockies. Why not? The kid hit seven home runs in his first six games, after all. They sent his helmet and batting gloves to Cooperstown and everything.

It's clear the Chicago White Sox mean for Carlos Rodon to be another ace left-hander alongside Chris Sale. He was their No. 3 pick in the 2014 draft, and they called him to The Show after only nine appearances in the minors.

And now, they may be on the verge of getting their wish.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost some pitching depth for the 2016 season because southpaw Marco Gonzales is reportedly set to undergo Tommy John surgery.

Rob Bradford of WEEI reported Josh Rutledge will replace Sandoval on the 25-man roster. 

New York Mets left fielder Yoenis Cespedes probably had zero chance of making a play on this ball, but you have to respect the effort he gave.

Of course, you also feel a little sorry for the fans who got wrecked on the play.

Washington Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg is battling an illness and was scratched from Wednesday's start as a result. However, he's ready to make his return to the mound.

Nick Swisher has fallen on hard times over the last two years, but the former All-Star is getting another chance to revive his career by returning to the New York Yankees. 

Having allowed players to use pink bats, wristbands and cleats in the past, Major League Baseball is going all-out for Mother's Day and Father's Day this season.

What does that mean? Pink and blue will be worked into every team's uniforms for each respective holiday.

Paul Carey, who was Ernie Harwell's broadcast partner with the Detroit Tigers for 19 seasons, died Tuesday at the age of 88.  

Per the Associated Press (via NBCSports.com), Carey's wife, Nancy, confirmed her husband's death, noting he had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart disease. 

The Minnesota Twins placed closer Glen Perkins on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a left shoulder strain, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
