Here is a look at picks for the top scorers at each position as well as bargain options to balance your budget.

Jose Fernandez went into his Tommy John operation last May as one of baseball's elite pitchers. Coming out of the operation, however, it wasn't fair to expect him to pick up where he left off right away.

1. Baseball's Newest Must-See Rivalry: Royals-Blue Jays 

The Jays and Royals played absolutely phenomenal baseball over three games before Sunday's contest turned into something right up Ronda Rousey's alley. The MLB non-waiver trade deadline is officially in the rearview mirror, but that doesn't mean that big leaguers like James Shields are off the market just yet.

Between now and the end of the month, a player can be traded to any team if he clears waivers. If the given major leaguer does get claimed, he can be traded to the club that put in the claim.

Adrian Beltre needed all of five innings to hit for a cycle Monday night against the Houston Astros. The Texas Rangers third baseman picked up a triple in the first inning, a double in the second, a single in the third and capped things off with a solo home run in the fifth.

Freddie Freeman has been battling injuries for the first time in his career this season, leaving the Atlanta Braves with a huge hole at first base. The 25-year-old now must deal with a right oblique issue that will keep him off the field.
