Mark Kiszla is at it again.

The younger brother of San Francisco Giants outfielder Nate Schierholtz was arrested today for a drunken driving rampage in their hometown of Danville, California.

23 year old Cainan Schierholtz was driving a big red pick-up truck when he first struck a bicyclist, then hit a pedestrian standing a in a bicycle lane, then hit not one, but two parked cars and finally came to a halt only when he struck a light pole and two other pick-up truck drivers boxed him in so he couldn’t get away.

The Dodgers’ main trade piece in return for Ted Lilly & Ryan Theriot is Blake DeWitt, a 24-year-old, left-handed batting second baseman selected by the Dodgers in the first-round of the 2004 amateur draft.

He debuted with L.A. in 2008 as a third baseman batting .264 with 9 HR and 52 RBI in 117-games.

Against Chicago in the NLDS, DeWitt went 3-for-11, scoring two runs and recording one RBI.

Jake Westbrook and Ryan Ludwick were traded today in a creative three-way trade. The moving parts in this deal looked like this:

With only one full day remaining before the non-waiver trade deadline, and 60 games left to be played on their schedule, the Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves trailing the division leading San Diego Padres by a full seven games, and are seeing their chances of returning to the playoffs gradually disappear.

On Thursday afternoon at Coors Field, the Colorado Rockies picked up their first win in seven months, defeating the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates 9-3 to avoid the sweep. So it wasn't actually seven months, but for Rockies fans it felt that way.

Update: (8:20pm CDT) The two minor leaguers heading to the Kansas City Royals are catcher Lucas May and pitcher Elisaul Pimentel.

About four hours after their closer was taken off the field in an ambulance due to a batting practice line drive to the lower abdomen, the Rockies playoff chances took their own shot to the groin.
