Will Rafael Soriano Be a Problem for the Yankees?

Bill Madden of the New York Daily News is reporting that Rafael Soriano has a bad attitude and "was hated by almost everyone in Tampa Bay last year."  Madden says Soriano didn't like being brought into games in non-save situations or having to pitch more than one inning in a game.

Pittsburgh Pirates: Offseason Moves Add Depth and Push Them Closer To Average

The Pittsburgh Pirates have made a number of offseason moves, thereby adding depth in key spots. That's true, even though none of the newly acquired players figure to be stars, meaning that the Pirates aren't likely to be contenders anytime soon.

Examining the NY-Boston Rivalry, Soriano's Temper and Cashman's Future

I'll start today's post with a question.

Major League Baseball 2011: Reaction To Joey Votto's Extension

In a year in which nine-figure deals became unsurprising to hear in breaking news columns and contract extensions were given out like they were samples of cheese at a grocery store, you would think the reigning National League Most Valuable Player award winner would receive more than $38 million over three years, wouldn't you?

Atlanta Braves Must Wait on Long-Term Extensions with Dan Uggla Locked Up

When the Atlanta Braves signed Dan Uggla to a five-year, $62 million contract they locked up one of baseball’s best right-handed power hitters.

While I would have liked a slightly shorter deal (three or four years) I understand the Braves probably didn’t have that option. As a consistent 30-plus-homer second baseman, Uggla could easily demand a four-year contract once he became a free agent.

New GM Chris Antonetti: Is It Okay to Care About the Indians Again?

Dear Mr. Antonetti:

Congratulations on your promotion to be the next General Manager of the Cleveland Indians.

I grew up watching the Indians of the 1980s, as John Addams' drumbeats echoed through the cavernous and usually empty Municipal Stadium. But when you're a kid, the fascination of simply seeing a major league game was good enough for me, But as I grew up, I learned more and more about the game itself, which not only made me a more informed fan, but a more critical one as well.

New York Mets: Can They Be Legitimate Contenders In 2011?

There is a lot of potential in the 2011 New York Mets.  The Mets have recently been one of the most talented teams in the MLB, but they haven't been able to put that talent to use and win.

Coming into 2011, many people don't see the Mets as a threat.  I believe that this might actually help the Mets in 2011.

2011 Fantasy Projections, No. 1: St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols Still on Top
