Welcome to an up close and personal, first look at the movie "Major League Baseball: Wild, Wild, West", starring umpire Joe West.

First released in Boston, Massachusetts back in April, the movie has since premiered in Chicago, and has finally been released nationwide.

Since the release, MLB fans have recognized it's time to send West packing into the sunset, and for him to leave the game of baseball.

By no means, would this be a picture perfect ending to a long and controversial career, but this goodbye would be well deserved.

Jamie Moyer is still an effective major league pitcher.

And it’s still perfectly clear that National League lineups aren’t even close to catching up to the 47-year-old craftsman.

But over Moyer’s past three starts, it seems that the law of averages certainly has...

It is a no-brainer that Stephen Strasburg is at the top of minor league prospects in 2010. He is scheduled to make his major league debut next week for the Nationals.

Strasburg has posted a combined record of 6-2 with a 1.43 ERA in 10 starts, with five in AA and five in AAA.

He has struck out 60 and walked 12 in 50 minor league innings and has allowed only one home run. He also has posted an amazing 0.79 WHIP.

So far 2010 has been filled with drama.

Teams go from boiling hot to freezing cold in an instant. Stars have been struggling more than ever.

Who would have thought Memorial Day weekend would leave so many marks this season?

A typical response to why someone is not a baseball fan is that the game is too slow and boring.

If they only knew that baseball loves the drama.

Right now, it could not be more of a soap opera. Teams are soaring when they should be collapsing, and vice versa.

1. To call this season "'68 redux" may be doing it a disservice. After all, only one perfect game was thrown that year; we saw two this past month. I suppose A-Rod can't question Dallas Braden's credentials any more. As for Halladay, nothing he does surprises me. Every time he takes the mound, we're truly witnessing greatness.

2. His first name could be Bob or Tom, and America would still know Ubaldo Jimenez's name after the month he just had. He started May with an ERA of 0.79, and ends it at 0.78.

"With the first pick in the draft, the Washington Nationals select Bryce Harper." It is one of the few phrases I will be shocked to not hear on June 7th.

It's now June and the Cubs sit four games below .500 and six games behind the Cards and Reds.

With 52 games in the books, the season is getting dangerously close to one-third over. So all the cries not to worry because it's early are starting to ring hollow.

Meanwhile, we know that Jim Hendry doesn't have money to work with, and is stuck with expensive, long-term contracts that have no-trade clauses. So any suggestions must work within these limitations.

So while I'd love to suggest we go out and obtain Roy Oswalt, we need to be practical here.

Last Wednesday, Hisanori Takahashi became the only Met pitcher to go at least six shutout innings in each of his first two big league starts. Only 18 pitchers have ever accomplished this before.

It was only a matter of time, critics argued, before the proverbial wheels fell off. On Memorial Day in San Diego, those wheels flew off in emphatic fashion. Why are you laughing, Taka? I don't think that performance deserves a smile and a smirk.

Corey Hart has always had potential and is a former All-Star. The 28-year old Milwaukee Brewers outfielder is having a career year so far with a league-leading 13 homers and 33 RBIs.

It's clear that unless the Brewers get more starting pitching that they aren't going anywhere this year. It brings up a great question that many baseball analysts have discussed: should the Brewers trade Corey Hart for a starting pitcher?
