Are the Philadelphia Phillies Negotiating with Pedro Martinez's Agent?

With Kyle Kendrick doing his best Chan Ho Park imitation, and a few other warning signs illuminating, could the rumors about Ruben Amaro contacting Pedro Martinez's agent to negotiate a deal be true?

Top 10 Destinations For a Pedro Martinez Return in 2010

Pedro Martinez whet his appetite with one pitch to kick off the 2010 Major League Baseball season and hopes to throw many more before the campaign concludes. Donning a Red Sox uniform, Pedro tossed the ceremonial first pitch in Bean Town a week ago Sunday.

Afterward, the future Hall of Famer made it known that he still desires a real gig this season.

MLB Quick Pitches: Pedro Martinez's One-Pitch Audition

What I’m Reading

• Pedro Martinez is still out there. He’s available. He even threw a side session at Fenway on Opening Day. What’s in store for his future , though?

The Latino Decade Leaders In MLB: 2000-2009

The 2010 season of Major League Baseball is to start in just a few days.

With the beginning of spring training, it is not only of a new year, but also a new decade.

To wrap up the debate that was, here is a list of the best Latinos of the past decade, the leaders for the years 2000-2009.

A Spoonful of Sugar: The Best Baseball Movie Ever?

I love baseball movies.

Field of Dreams still makes me cry (don't laugh—I know you cry when Ray Kinsella has that catch with his dad). Bull Durham is that perfect Saturday afternoon dose of rivalry and sweetness. Then there are the historical dramas like Eight Men Out.

So, when the American Film Institute recently released its selections for this year's top films, and a baseball movie called Sugar was on the list, I went right to my computer and shot it to the top of my Netflix queue.

The New York Baseball All-Decade Team: Pitching Staff

This decade was great for the Yankees—winning two World Series—but not great for the Mets, only making the playoffs a couple of times.

In fact, in the first World Series of the decade, the two New York teams faced each other in the Subway Series.

New York Mets Deny Interest in Pedro Martinez

It appears that Pedro Martinez won't be making a trip back to Big Apple after all.

After numerous reports that the Mets were interested in the veteran, who pitched for the team from 2005-2008, Anthony DiComo of MLBlogs is reporting that Mets officials have denied having any interest in resigning Martinez.

"There's no truth to it," a source close to the Mets said. "There are no discussions going on."

Chicago Cubs: Is Carlos Marmol Recruiting Pedro Martinez?

Not sure if anyone read the latest foot-in-mouth interview from Chicago's North Side, but this time it isn't one of the usual suspects.

No, it wasn't Milton Bradley talking about how racist the fans were. And it wasn't Geovany Soto talking about the proper way to pack a bong during the World Baseball Classic.

This time, it was closer-to-be Carlos Marmol. And he was jumping all over the hot stove.

What's Next For Pedro Martinez?

Unless he's pitching against your favorite team, it's quite difficult not to be a fan of Pedro Martinez.

Martinez is more than just a future Hall of Fame pitcher. He's an entertainer that often leaves his opponents baffled one minute but cracking up with laughter the next.
