I haven't done a rumor mill for Major League Baseball in a couple of days, so now here is one today!

Is there a possibility that Houston Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt could go to the New York Yankees or Washington Nationals? It could be possible.

While the MLB season isn't halfway over, it's time we started discussing how good rookies have really been this season. We've seen surprises like Brennan Boesch and Jaime Garcia, as well as guys like Jason Heyward (left) who we've known would be good all along. BALTIMORE: July 25 and 26, 2009. Seems like random dates from last year's awful season. Those dates are actually of meaning.

It was the last time the Mets won consecutive road games. On those dates, the Mets played in Houston after losing the first game and took the series.

This time, having not won a road series this season and having not won back-to-back road games since those dates, it should come a little easier for the Mets. After all, they are already up 1-0 against a 17-44 Orioles team.

Stephen Strasburg just made a marvelous debut into the MLB with the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.

Bryce Harper was just selected by the Washington Nationals this week. He is advertised to be one of the best players in the MLB down the road.

He was a catcher in high school, but the Nationals will switch him to right field.

Harper has the power of a top farm prospect for an MLB team, he is just that good.

What does that mean for the Washington Nationals down the road? They will have the two best prospects to come out of high school or college in decades.

This is all fun and games, as I have given up sports gambling since moving from Las Vegas. If you are going to gamble, remember a few things:

1. Don't pick your own team to win (we are all homers.)

2. Watch out for hooks (a push is better then a loss)

3. Five picks should be your maximum for any parlay.

Here are five MLB picks for Friday, June 11th 2010.

1005 ET: Seattle Mariners (+131) @ San Diego Padres (-141)

Over/Under: 6.5

The Yankees have gone 9-4 since opening a stretch of 16 games against mostly sub-.500 teams on May 28. Now, they have come to the end of Easy Street with three contests versus the Astros.

With tougher Interleague matchups coming up against the Phillies, Mets and Dodgers this month, New York will look to capitalize on its final easy series before it travels to Arizona from June 21-23.

BALTIMORE—This season, the Mets are 24-10 playing at Citi Field. That's pretty "amazin'." The Amazins, though, are only 8-18 on the road.

If there was ever a road trip for the Mets to fatten up on, it's this one. Starting tonight, the Mets will play six games against two of the three worst teams in the American League.

The Orioles are first on the docket, and if the Mets can't win a series from a team 26 games below .500, then they just don't deserve a playoff spot, no matter how good they are at home.

The Triple Crown.

It's been missing in horse racing since 1978. 

But it's been missing in baseball even longer.

In the next few weeks, Major League Baseball will embark in trade frenzy. Every team must quickly decide whether they are a buyer or seller.

Do they have a chance to compete this year? Is it better to hold the pieces for a run next year? Should they sell any valuable assets to rebuild for years to come?

It is not easy for a general manager to make these decisions.

Red Sox pitching, of course, refers to just two men:

Daisuke Matsuzaka and Tim Wakefield.

Remember how both those guys dominated the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park three weeks ago over a span of 18 hours?

Well, both righthanders will be out to repeat their wizardry of the Phillies this weekend, while the Phillies will be given a shot at redemption, a chance for revenge.
