No professional sports league produces as many awful trades as Major League Baseball.

Baseball is the only sport that features players that may not peak until their late-20s or even early-30s.

Because of this, some teams get impatient with their farm talent and ship it away in exchange for an aging veteran that has had previous success. As the late-bloomer explodes onto the scene with his new team, the aging veteran produces about a season or two of decent numbers before taking a nose dive.

Everyone that is a fan of the game of baseball knows about the players that are consistently able to go deep at any given time in a game.

These type of home run-hitting power hitters are a rare breed in this era of baseball after the steroid-soaked years that came in the 90s and early 2000s. But, there are still many guys that can add their share of "round-trippers" when needed.

The American League East is the best division in baseball. It really isn't close. The Red Sox are arguably the best team in baseball and the Yankees aren't too far behind. We now know that cheating was a part of baseball for the last two decades. There are legitimate reasons to believe between 50 percent and 80 percent of players were using some form of performance enhancing drugs. For many, the improvements flew under the radar, preventing suspicion.
