MLB Fantasy Baseball: 2011 N.L. Only Top 10 Third Basemen Rankings

Here’s an early look at the N.L. Only 2011 Third Base rankings.

1. David Wright, New York Mets: David Wright is back. His average/HR/SB combination make him the class of the National League hot corner.

2. Ryan Zimmerman, Washington Nationals: While I favor Wright slightly because of his stolen bases, Zimmerman is right up there. The Nationals are improving, and Zimmerman is at the forefront of that movement.

The Top MLB Prospect Position Changes to Keep an Eye on in 2011

Position changes in Major League Baseball aren't usually a big deal, but in certain instances, they can make or break a player's career.

Take two examples.

One: Skip Schumaker of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Spring Training 2011: 10 Reasons Bryce Harper Should NOT Be in the Majors Yet

Forget about Stephen Strasburg—Bryce Harper is the hottest thing in baseball now. His bat has been compared to the late, great Ted Williams and he might be the most hyped prospect of all-time.

It is hard to say whether or not Harper is ready to break into the bigs. Last season, he played in junior college and the year before that, he was still in high school.

Do you think that Bryce Harper is ready for the show? I don’t think he is quite there. If the Nationals are smart, they will wait until they call Harper up to the majors.

MLB Pitchers on the Mend: 10 Hurlers Trying To Make Comebacks in 2011

It’s a fickle life in Major League Baseball. Here today, gone tomorrow is a phrase often used when referring to ballplayers who had a quick run of success before seemingly losing it altogether, or players felled by injuries who were unable to make it all the way back.

The stories of great fame and then injury go back many years in baseball, especially among pitchers. Dizzy Dean was a classic example.

Known as the Ace of the Gashouse Gang for the St. Louis Cardinals, Dean was the last pitcher to win 30 games in the National League, reaching that mark in 1934.

MLB Preview 2011: Handicapping the San Francisco Giants' Left-Field Battle

Major League Baseball's Spring Training is already underway and that means it's officially time for the World Champion San Francisco Giants to put away the champagne (or Bud Lite), confetti and late-night talk show laurels.

The thong can stay, though (Aubrey's, not the Machine's).

Down in Arizona, the first PFP drills have been run so you know two things.

First, someone has already embarrassed himself.

2011 Fantasy Projections, No. 62: Why Giants' Buster Posey Is Overrated

Our 2011 fantasy baseball projections will be released one-by-one until the top 100 players have been revealed. These rankings consider past achievements, current performance and expected future results based on standard 5×5 H2H settings.

Yesterday, I made a bold statement that has caused an uproar from fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts.

Texas Rangers: Best Three and Worst Three Trades of GM Jon Daniels

At the age of 28 years and 41 days, Jon Daniels became the youngest GM in baseball history on October 4, 2005, succeeding John Hart.

Daniels took over a team that was restocking the roster from the outside via free agency. After turning that around completely by rebuilding through the draft he's turned around the Rangers win-loss column as well. He led the Rangers to their first World Series appearance last year in his fifth season at the helm.

MLB 2011: 10 Topics We Will Get Sick of Hearing During the 2011 MLB Season

The 2011 MLB season is just about a month away from Opening Night, and with it brings hopes and dreams for teams, players and fans alike.

The grass is being cut with new patterns, the popcorn machines are being serviced and the cotton candy is being placed on sticks.

Baseball is upon us all.

But the season is a long one. That being said, records will be broken, players will change teams and rumors will swirl.
