Fear not, pitching-needy clubs. There are still plenty of hurlers capable of improving a rotation next season available this winter. 

Over the next few slides, we'll take a look at a handful of pitchers whom teams should pursue now that some of the bigger fish have left the free-agent ocean. Zack Greinke, David Price, Jordan Zimmermann and Jeff Samardzija may have signed elsewhere, but teams still have an opportunity to improve via free agency or the trade market. 

A flood of trades, signings and speculation headlined Day 1 of the 2015 MLB winter meetings, but for now, Aroldis Chapman remains a member of the Cincinnati Reds.

According to Tim Brown and Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, a proposed trade between the Reds and the Los Angeles Dodgers was "held up" following a report that Chapman was allegedly involved in a domestic incident in October.

At the beginning of the offseason, we wrote a piece breaking down all 30 MLB teams' offseason shopping lists as an overview of what to expect out of each franchise this offseason.

With roughly a month of the offseason behind us and a number of notable moves already made, now seems like a good time to update those shopping lists as the annual winter meetings began Monday in Nashville, Tennessee.

While the baseball world is firmly focused on free-agent prizes and where they'll end up, key MLB stars are busy recovering from injuries that derailed their campaigns a season ago.

In those cases, the returns of those players are more important than any offseason acquisition ever could be. Over the next few slides, we'll take a look at a handful of players who hope to rebound from lost seasons in 2016. 

"Value" isn't exactly the word that comes to mind when thinking about the 2015-2016 MLB free-agent class.

While aces like David Price and Zack Greinke have made fortunes in recent days, there are still plenty of free agents who can be bought at bargain prices.

If the 2015 MLB season proved anything, it's that prospects are capable of making an impact at the major league level sooner than they ever have. 

With so much young talent entering the big leagues, the stakes have never been higher. Teams' farm systems are ever-evolving, and prospects that can't keep up with the pace are often passed by.

What a difference a year makes. 

At the end of the 2014 season, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was coming off a fantastic campaign and was widely considered one of the top young players in MLB.

The MLB offseason doesn't generally kick into high gear until the calendar turns over to December and the winter meetings get underway, but we've had a busy month of November this year.

Jordan Zimmermann was the first marquee free agent to sign, while J.A. Happ, Rich Hill, Chris Iannetta, Alex Avila, A.J. Pierzynski and Franklin Gutierrez are also already off the market.

Following an active trade market last July, this MLB offseason has taken a while to get its footing and take off, resulting in a slow start to the free agent and trade markets as we enter December.

Zack Greinke remains unsigned and Aroldis Chapman remains with the Cincinnati Reds, but the top available MLB stars are starting to vanish off the shelf.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Jordan Zimmermann has inked a new deal with the Detroit Tigers, which means that the loaded class of free-agent aces just shrank by one.
