Will David Ortiz earn a stay in Boston? Will the New York Yankees have enough to hang on to the American League East? Can Ted Lilly save the Dodgers' fanbase from the McCourt divorce?

The 2010 trade deadline came and went Saturday afternoon with a flurry of both major and minor activity.

Adam Dunn: The Top 10 Teams That Could Pick Him Up

Washington Nationals' slugger, Adam Dunn, was placed on waivers today, and there is much buzz about teams potentially picking him up.

While the fact that Dunn is being put through the waivers process doesn't necessarily mean that the Nats are willing to part with him, many teams have expressed interest in the first baseman.

Here are the top 10 teams that could add Dunn to their rosters.

Five Most Memorable Starts by J.A. Happ as a Philadelphia Phillie

It has been less than a week since J.A. Happ was dealt to the Houston Astros with Anthony Gose and Jonathan Villar for Roy Oswalt. Unlike minor league prospects Gose and Villar, however, Happ was once a key piece of the Phillies' starting roster, particularly in 2009, when he finished second in Rookie of the Year balloting to Marlins outfielder Chris Coghlan.

Happ's odd career as a Phillie saw him go from organizational spare part in 2008, to rookie sensation in 2009, and then back to spare part in 2010.

His forearm injury and subsequent extended DL stint led Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr.

MLB Trade Deadline: 10 Near-Deals That Would Have Changed Everything

If you're like me, the run-up to the non-waiver trading deadline is one of the highlights of the MLB season.

It's not just the flurry of news and rumors that makes late July fun; it's the game of matchmaker the media and fans play as we imagine who could go where and why.

Of course, when the dust lifted, the vast majority of rumored deals ended up to be mere false alarms.

The Best Trade in the History of Each MLB Team

With one of the most exciting times of the baseball season, the trading deadline, behind us, the contenders should begin to take shape within the next month as we move closer to October baseball.

With so much talk of trades the past several weeks, I decided to look back and name what I feel is the best trade, be it deadline, off-season, or otherwise, in the history of each MLB team.

Some decisions were certainly easier than others, with moves like the Lou Brock and Jeff Bagwell trades a no-brainer. However, for other team's it was much harder to settle on a best trade.

10 Inactive MLB Players Who Will Impact the Playoff Picture

With the trading deadline in baseball's rear view mirror, teams are beginning to pay attention to the playoff races with the arrival of August.

With roughly two months left in the regular season, the real contenders will emerge from the woodwork.

With trading in mind, newly acquired players will have big impacts on the playoff pictures.

The 20 Worst MLB TV and Radio Announcers

When you are a baseball fan and want to watch or listen to the game, sometimes you find yourself at the mercy of the broadcasters.

They have the ability to irritate and frustrate listeners. They can irk viewers with their biased commentary and antagonize with their over-excited delivery.

At least for televised games, you can opt to turn the volume down. Radio broadcasts, on the other hand, are a major problem.

These guys are known for making many people angry just with the sound of their voice or even their opinions.

Carter's MLB Power Rankings—August 2: Red Hot Twins Up To Number Three

NOTE: Team and player statistics are updated through Monday morning, August 2 11:00 AM CT

1. New York Yankees (66-38)
After a not-so-great first three months to the season, Mark Teixeira has hit .344, with 8 homeruns and 26 RBIs in July, which moves him up to number seven in my AL MVP rankings. The Yankees also own the AL’s best home record at 34-16.

2. Tampa Bay Rays (65-39)

The Heartbeats of the Future: 10 Young Marlins Key To Postseason Return

In 2012, the Florida Marlins will move into a new ballpark in downtown Miami and will be renamed the Miami Marlins with an all new logo, color scheme, and young nucleus.

Most of their stars will be 30-years-old or younger, and I will highlight that here. Certainly, they have one of the most talented nucleus of players in the Major Leagues, and there is no telling what they can do once they move into a new environment, a true baseball stadium with the top players in the game.
