As of this morning, the St. Louis Cardinals are 84-58, 10.5 games in front of the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central. 

How have they achieved this success?

One may attribute it to the MVP caliber season of Albert Pujols, the trade deadline acquisition of Matt Holliday, or the amazing pitching of Adam Wainwright.

Or Chris Carpenter.

The 34-year-old is 16-3, with a league leading 2.16 ERA in 24 starts this season.

The St. Louis Cardinals should trade for Corey Patterson.

Maybe I'm a moron.

Maybe I'm a thinker.

Either way, sometimes crazy ideas work. 

I know I'll get fried for this. You're probably thinking, "If he's not good enough for Washington, he's really not good enough for St. Louis. What does this guy know?"

When the baseball starts back up tomorrow, there are going to be all kinds of storylines to follow.

Can Albert Pujols win the first Triple Crown since 1967?

Will the trading of Roy Halladay change the landscape of the National League pennant race?

In a town, where the arch resides, one of the world’s greatest artifacts that overlooks the city and where the Mississippi River streams along St. Louis. In the town, there’s also baseball’s unquestionable hitter who hails before the enthusiastic Red Birds fans, where average fans contains of Pujols’ Craziness.

In honor of the upcoming new Harry Potter movie, I felt that it would only be appropriate to dedicate an article to Quidditch, the ficitional sport that is depicted throughout the popular book and movie series.

Therefore, in this article I will put forth a hypothetical scenario: imagine that Quidditch suddenly became an actual sport, and a new team was recruting the world's top athletes to play. Who should be selected for this challenge?

Here are my picks:

Is it a coincidence that just as Ryan Ludwick went down with an injury at Pittsburgh, the Cardinal offense began to struggle?

Is it a chance happening that while Ludwick struggled once coming off the disabled list, the Cardinal bats were quiet?

Finally, is it pure luck that as soon as Ludwick began to find his stroke, the Cardinals finally began to churn out runs again?
